Kaori Ozaki is a sort of older Jun Mochizuki. While other authors publish lots of new manga, these authors focus on making one or two masterpieces. Back to Kaori Ozaki, I'm deeply grateful to this mangaka for creating one of my favorite manga. Ive read about 700 manga and through the years still haven´t found a manga that gives me so much feelings (well, pandora hearts did it too, but this one came first). It's a story about hate, love and redemption, but done very, very well. Every character touches you, every character remembers you the worst and best of humanity. This manga has a sort of Fruits basket fandom, aka, a fandom that might disappear but never dies. It is very well rated in all websites and honestly It should have a bigger fandom but unfortunately Tokyopop never was able to publish it. This is a masterpiece. It will make you laugh, cry and at the end, feel empty because you get really attached to the characters and you don´t want it to end. Kudos to the author because all of her manga are well rated, she plays well with our hearts! Adventure, angst, friendship, you don´t want to miss this shonen!

When reading this manga, I thought it was seinen, of course I was wrong while the story can get dark it never get really dark, also no one die just like most of shounen manga out there, and then I was wrong again, after I want to mark this manga as finished I saw shoujo.

This manga is good, I really see the potential in it, but it seems a lot are not realized. A world where people carrying weapon all the time yet no one actually get killed(except in the past, one piece style), a protagonist that only have superhuman strength and immortal yet nobody ever seems be able to subdue him, a lot of explosion yet everyone keep able to escape with little to no injury, immortal man roaming 600 years yet it only go as far as a rumors.

This manga have a lot of great ideas but all of it rendered pointless or weak, because of the targeted market, it should be seinen instead of shoujo.

The overall emotions this manga are uplifting, even though you know it is coming your way. It isn't pretentious, and for much of the time, feels light despite many of its themes being rather heavy. A very enjoyable read. Some people may find the characters to be too "type cast", but in this story, they work. There is drama, but not melodrama. I thought it was predictable, but the emotions I felt reading it, were suprising and genuine.

I love this series and its characters, but goddammit the first few volumes are pretty average shoujo fare.(though admittedly it has more action than the average shoujo) It isn't till volume 4 or 5 when the antagonist shows up that the series gets amazing.

I can see why many people would like this series, and the main character isn't too annoying. But this manga just doesn't stick to me. After dropping it for a couple months, I've already forgotten most of everything despite reading at least 5 volumes. ACK I don't really want to start all over again...

But who knows...?

After several years of dropping this series (finding it quite mediocre at the time) I gave this one a last chance and managed to finish it.
I still find the story so-so, I think the premise is good but find both Yuca and Rain kind of weak and boring characters, Yuca starts off enigmatic and deranged but well I won't tell you how his char progresses, as for Rain, he's quite boring thou not a bad char he's a bit too bland, it's good that there is Machika, Eury and a few others that are more interesting, also, I liked the romance; still I didn't like their development much and their dialogues weren't very good (thou that might be the translation fault, can't tell). And last, the ending was kinda mediocre too, neither good nor bad thou.
All in all it's an ok read for someone with a lot of free time like me.

So I got till the 3rd chapter and was thiking that something is really off. Like reaaaally off. And then I came back here and noticed... Shoujo. Ahhh.... I was a fool once, but now I am a wise man.

Now then, when all the peaces fell into place, could see it in different lights, I will not say that I like it much though. Prequel was better in my eyes.

Oh gawd. Holy molly. Actually I've been putting this on my wishlist for a long time and didn't want to read it at all, but since I was bored, I decided to give this a try and I'M NOT REGRETTING IT!!! The plot is awfully horribly good. It's too awesome for words. I love all the characters although, I hated them in the beginning but hey, they turned out to be pretty good! I don't understand why some people dislike Machika in the beginning since, she is capable of fighting and I see her as a strong female lead. It's not like she goes around acting like some damsel in distress and hauling that scythe for no reason but in fact, she can pull off a few stunts and I enjoyed every fighting scene of hers. I liked her actually. She's an understanding person and when she hugged Yuca during the end, I cried. Yuca is another cute character as well!

Although he was really evil in the beginning but that's because he was in pain...and to see how he has changed so drastically after bumping into Machika and Rain, I think he's a lovable character. I have no complaints about Rain either. He's just as good as he is. Well honestly saying, all the characters are likeable. I can't seem to hate them at all, even the villains. Oh, of course Folk in exception.

And the art is pretty good too! It's really clean and the dialogues isn't all over the place and each scene is drawn out in great details. Seriously, I don't have any complaints about this manga. Plus, this manga made me cry, laugh and smile all the way to the ending. It's just good. You really gotta read this. Honestly. PLEASE!!!
