A post about otaku from Klisis, from anime-anime.com came to mind about this subject.

*I've seen some couples of otaku + normal person since most of my male friends have been real hardcore otaku. I've ended up being helping some of their wives as well as result.

The problem lies in otaku's priority. The reason they are "otaku" is because they have certain fantasy that is only fulfilled through either manga or anime or else. Generally, there is no way for a wife to be able to fulfill this unseen desire. I asked them why they married them in the first place. Their common respond was that they didn't think it'd turn out to be more serious than they figured.

Now, here is an interesting thing. When a husband and a wife are both otaku, they have a very high rate of divorce due to financial aspects.

And, when a wife is an oktau, her children are very likely to inherit her tastes as well. It's very funny to see their children to have exact the same taste as their mother in anime.

In most of cases, it is husbands who are otaku, and generally being an otaku husband doesn't cause a big of a deal.
The real problem is when the husband is an otaku who's stereotype, and for most of them, divorce is the only way for them.*

This is an interesting topic. I wonder whether or not i will be able to find an otaku girl that digs and otaku guy.

From some of this topic i question if I am an otaku or not. I doubt that i am but I can say i like anime/manga/games but it's more of a hobby than it is a lifestyle for me. I never been to a anime convention before. I am sure most otaku have been to a convention more than once. But i do spend a lot of time with anime/manga/games although it's never is my first priority although it appears to be.

Lol @ Konata (Fron Lucky Star)

Hmm it makes sense but ruin our dreams much? Its exactly like the timy my other dream was ruined. Some guy came to our school and said "You can be anything you want to be" "Except like a Penguin or somehing"... and i thought i had my future planned out at penguin collage and the north pole...

Well anyway, like stated before, there are "Normal" Oraku's they work, eat, sleep and go out to do wahtever, but watch alto of anime and read alot of manga in their spare time, like me (i has lots of spare time cause im only year 9 [Jailbait XD]) Well anyway, i dont think financial problems and divorce would be a problem in "Otuples" but with the Norm+Otaku couples, they Otaku may put anime/manga before their partner, thats when the problem arrives, but with the "Otuple" they both enjoy the Anime/manga so they enjoy it together and relate to eachother more.

The thought that comes to me is, when a new manga is out, who's going to read it first?

Whoever dl'd it, or together, or seperately cause one of thems out? I think it actually works better that way, a 2 way information network eh?

But then again, what about DL clashes? XD they might have to find somehting they want to watch together, and if one wants to watch "XXX" and the other wants to watch "ZZZ" that might be a problem??

That could be solved by both of them using different computers and a router.

The main problem is the male otaku's preference. Like mentioned by Klisis, an otaku who's hardcore will be hard to deal with, mainly because of option 1 in the poll...

Lets say a guy = Option 1. Why would he want a girlfriend in the beginning then? i dont think they would go look for a GF if they interested in 2D picture fantasies mroe than flesh. And yeah it could be solved liek that couldnt it XD

That's the thing. People long for companionship no matter how obsessed with anime/manga. However, when they have it, it's hard for the partner to live up to the ideal anime/manga characters the person's obsessed with.

-.-" i feel like were kinda steering into our own little chat here and a bit off topic, but ill agree. XD

and if you want to talk jsut PM me XD

I think were getting into a psycological part of things here right now, i know of stories of people goign crazy due to lonelyness and solitude but, i guess there are alot of different people in the world and their minds are all different but with the same natrual instincy of companionship. Like people say, you never know how much you've taken somehting for granted until its gone.

I can never really understand how some (prolly a minority, but they exist) would prefer 2D/anime girls or boys to the real thing. Yep, it's the scary part of otakuism.

Ah, whoops.

All I can really add that's on-topic is that if you find a partner that's an otaku, then good luck. (Or should I be saying, "Good luck in finding one"?)

Well.... if you're going for personality, you can find girls who are like your dream girl, right? Only appearance is different. And don't look for fighting-ninja girls, because they REALLY don't exist... (commonly)
