Mamsmilk, I know a straight guy (not personally) who fell in love with my gay bestfriend and left his girlfriend to be with him. And it's not part of my yaoi fantasies. There's still chance for you 😃

xisaacbx I was thinking that, hypothetically speaking, there was a girl here that lives close by, interested in guys who likes anime kinda stuff... not the Internet kind of relationship or long distance one 🙂

@moritana - glass half empty?

I'd call myself an otaku. Sure, I'm obsessed with anime and manga. I can't live without it. That doesn't mean I don't shower and eat. Even WoW fanatics don't go that far...much >> I believe there are levels of Otaku and you can indeed be a "normal" one. I guess one of the "worst" would be the type that collects figurines and paints them and stuff...even when they're 50 years old. A "normal" type would be the one that can't really stop thinking and talking about anime and manga but wouldn't go beyond fanfics and fanarts >>

Be a little more supple minded shall we? 🙂

I may be addicted to manga and games, but the reason why I never decided to go find that otaku guy for me is because they never bothered to ask if I'm free or what not. I want someone who can have guts to talk to me.

Never met anyone like that yet. xD

If they enjoyed watching anime and can talk about some series without minding that the other students look and point at us, it's a definate plus.
If they don't mind helping me out with games that I have trouble with, (about all of them)... Plus!

Doesn't matter if they look out of place, I in fact, look always out of place.
I just want someone who can talk to me easily without being all awkward and weird even after he says he likes me. I've met too many guys being totally awkward and nervous after confessing.

Now if it wasn't for your age maybe would could talk =). All joking aside yeah... maybe people are just to shy to admit that they are or maybe guy otakus just have a hard time finding girl otakus because there just to scared to ask/talk to them. Girls may feel the same way im guessing... I wish people were just a little more open sometimes ^^.

So here a list for what female Otakus want so far.

  • A bad boy image
  • Guys who don't smell
  • Not gay o_O;;;
  • Romantic
  • common curtesy
  • basic level of intelligence
  • Not butt ugly
    [update]
  • hygiene
  • sense of humor

🤣 I think female in general like those, not just us otakus.

I don't like the bad boy image now, if that part was due to what I said. And the "not gay" part... I dunno about that, there are a lot of yaoi fangirls. At least not totally transvestite kind of gay.

That's what we're here for 😀 Everyone has different tastes, so it's hard to generalize, there's always someone who'll contradict that.

I read almost all of this thread posts, but if I double someone's opinion please don't bite me.

  • there's probably no manga, in which an otaku girl meets an otaku boy somewhere on internet forums or something like that (manga is full of all that 'fatefull meetings' crap), a girl would like to meet her future boyfriend in a better place, where she could immediatelly tell if his behaviour towards her and others is ok and if his appearance meets her expectations (life's a b****, sorry). it's a good beginning, when girl starts to have some sort of admirance for her future boyfriend ( if she's not an extreme otaku, she won't be impressed by any manga/anime knowledge )
  • otaku girls perfectly know, that they often don't have time for something else because of manga/anime. they're afraid, that an otaku guy would be the same as it comes to their relationship
  • bishie problem (again, life's a b****)
  • romance problem ( watching some romance anime won't do the trick. dinners with candles and long walks -> but it's sometimes too difficult even for non-otaku guys)

Otaku boys, they think they're weird -> and because of that, they're rarely approaching girls, or they're doing it with 'sorry, I'm an otaku' attitude... You gotta have confidence in yourself.

And yes, a manga type 'bad boy' is what makes a girl's blood run faster.
