Do you hate Shounen?

Well I dont hate some shounen though posting a thread on a forum sounds like i hate it well i dont but I do hate most of the shounen one reason is the cliche of I must kill the bad guy cause he is evil and will destroy the world. I do like how some shounens flip it on its head like Death Note or Code Breakers. They themselves are evil and are killing others kinda remind me of western comics. Please post your opinions recommend good shounens that don't fall in the cliche do whatever.

I generally will really like a shounen series so long as it has no harems, and I can stand the main character.
I hate generic good guy main characters, idiot main characters, and total loser who is somehow important main characters.
Usually if it has one of those I won't enjoy it. Unless it's stuffed full of fanservice. Then I'll start to care less. Or if there are enough appealing supporting characters to let me overlook the lead.
My favorite shounen tend to be ones with female leads, like Claymore or Kurohime.

I agree about claymore and the characters if i can bare them then ill like it and how claymore is your favorite but for some reason it gives off the vibe of Seinen because there is less comedy and more serious than most

Yeah, Claymore does have a seinen vibe despite being shounen. That's probably exactly what makes it seem like the best shounen series to me. I typically prefer seinen.

Hating an entire genre is just idiotic if not just plain bigotry.

trust me i've seen people hate seinen purely because of blood and the amount of nudity.

yeah i "kinda" hate shounen.... but i dont really mind the whole "i must kill the badguy because he's evil" thing.....but actually most the time that doesnt happen, it's more like "i must defeat the badguys that are evil, while i try my best not to actually kill them, unless they're not human...then it's ok"......but yeah, i wouldn't say i hate shounens, i just hate the shounen cliches......but shounens were it's not good pitted against evil, i tend to like.....such as Hajime no Ippo, umm....GTO, Angel Densetsu etc....slice of life's, school lifes, sports etc.....ones that aren't bound by the whole good wins, and evil loses cliche

I don't think it's fair to bash the entire shounen demographic as a whole. There's good and bad stuff everywhere.

The only shounen I hate is if it has the word 'ai' after it. No offense.

QFT. Especially for the use of "demographic" over "genre". The point being that shounen manga ranges greatly in what portion of that demographic its targeting, and what genre it is. I mean, it can be something like Naruto, or just as easily Love Hina or Welcome to the NHK! or Death Note or whatever. It's such a broad category that bashing it as a whole doesn't make much sense to me.
That said, I tend not to enjoy the shounen-action cliches very much. That's taste though- it's not cause for hatred.

It's silly to hate a whole demographic...
I don't read much shounen because I don't really find all those stupid pointless fights interesting...
But there are good shounen manga, like D gray man, which I really enjoy. And GTO. :3
It's the same with shoujo, for example.. I don't like the chliches , but there are good series out there, and quite a few of them.
Hrodulf and Bjornolfr, you will not be forgotten.

- Shounen/Seinen are not a genre.
- Seinen doesn't necessary mean blood/nudity.
Anyway my answer is of course no. But I still don't like some shounen cliché which are heavily used in many shounen manga.
What I like in Trivial Pursuit style. Pick your category:

I don't hate Shounen as a whole. I like the demographic, but not as much as Shoujo and others. (points to herself, a huge Shoujo fan) Sometimes their stories can be boring and repetitive. I mean, hating a entire manga demographic is like hating......I don't really know.
I read so much mangas, I'm too lazy to watch anime! 😛 😛 😛

i 2nd that....
i used to try and watch those because i never new what the hell shounen ai was....infact i thought it stood for Artificial intelligence and assumed it was about robots or cyborgs.....and after attempting about 4 of them i came to realization that it was no coincidence that they the main character's were all homos
