Race
Quote from E-chan52
Although I don't think I'm racist or anything, I think it is somewhat true that Chinese people are smart. It's not that they are smart but more like hardworking. I guess it's a trait passed down or something.
I'm lucky to go to a school that doesn't have cliques. Even though we do tend to hang out with a certain group of people. We aren't afraid to go outside of our groups.
Not true...The laziest person I know is Chinese.

Chinese people (Not most Chinese Americans though, but when speaking to their parents....) will call anyone non-Asian, gway-low. (ghost men) Hak gway, Bak gway.

Hmm honestly I don't think any race is smarter than each other. If Chinese people do better in school (I only know 3 Chinese people - all were top students btw) I think it has to do with culture. Is education and a good work ethic stressed in their culture. What happens if you fail? Is there a stigma or a punishment?

I love spicy curry... but I also love sugar cane shrimp and dim sum 😀
I can't choose! I love all race, I'll just marry my cat and have an interspecies relationship.

Suicide appears to be the way to go..or become hikikomori.
Oh, and I did develop racial profiling from my environment even though I don't want to be racist. It's kinda like a lab rat being shocked with electricity when pressing a red button while a the green one brings food. Whereas a rat in cage B has the opposite. So it it's conditioning.

Really? like I said all 3 Chinese people I knew where kids with 4.0+ GPAs so the convo of a B never really came up.
I should have asked one.
I know my friend who was Korean got punished when she got a 'B'
Question this may be more culture but it could tie into race.
- Do any of you use the phrase 'home training'? I think it's a primarily black thing (= knowing how to act in public. Pretty much only used chastisement.)
- When you get in trouble do you get 'grounded?' No black families I know say they ground someone. They'll be on punishment but no one says grounded. Compared to my white friends who used to say they were grounded.
@Nelo_Neko - I think most people really aren't trying to be racist and I think you're right saying people learn from conditioning.

oops! I missed this part. We call the Indians "ah cha". "ah cha likes to eat curry!"
And yes... it depends on how people are raised. If my family hires a bunch of tutors, I can be smart too!

oh,.. soy sauce, I forgot
We usually call those ah cha "see lai" (women) who drives blindly in the parking lot, "sei cha" (dead cha). And they hate us too... but this is relating to parking lot issues... not race.
