Oh, that's a wonderful one-shot you just recommended, hobbitelf518! Yumeka Somoko is the mistress of 'hopeful tragedy'! (Watase Yuu is the wife - and hence far less interesting.)
Btw, enquiring minds need to know: Are you by any chance Legolas' and Frodo's love-child? 😀 Adorable and beautiful in equal parts, I'd wager! 😁

I've seen Forever Honey mentioned a bunch of times here, so I myself got around to reading it and I gotta say, I wasn't ready for the surprise. Ai-Ren is the only other manga that was able to affect me so.

Shinigami no Ballad - some may fit more than others (they're all standalone). Especially try volume 2 chapters 4 & 7 (these are connected), volume 3 chapters 8 & 11 (also connected), and chapters 9 &10 (two parts of the same story, really).
