I truly believe in intelligent design (created by God I guess) seeing how complex our universe is but religion is kinda. _ I guess knowing which religion is legit is the tougher question...

Honestly i don't believe in god. Its hard for me to believe everything was just made by something that we can't see out of nothing. I believe in the science of things and evolution. Created from something.
Wanna help me rule the world?

i think its amazing how many people say no and then start talking about a christian-type of god. i dont see the point of bringing in religion in this thread..
and scientificily speaking. god is a concept. it doesn't has to be proven. neither does the concept of science has to be proven. since you can't. proof doesnt exist !!
thats my main believe.
and nude L's. yummy.

I believe there is One Almighty God that was the originator of everything. It is because our creation, our oceans, all the species and the fact how our brains work in a snap of second etc etc and even as obvious as that how God created us in pairs is a really cool thing to appreciate.
When we see an invention, a good directed movie, a building and so on we usually commend on the efforts of the producer. So I think that the Creator of this universe should also be commended and acknowledged.

i don't know if i believe in god or not....in truth, i think god is just an illusion that people of different cultures created...an illusion that there's a higher being somewhen and somewhere watching over us...an illusion to comfort ourselves that that "higher being" will watch over us, to keep us safe and so forth, if we believe in him/her....gods of different cultures are different in their sense of powers and personalities, but pretty much every culture has a god...that's because all of us human are the same at that point...we're all weak at one point, and want to, need to, believe in something that can get us out of our situation....the existence of gods and mythical stuff are just products of our imagination....in fact, we shouldn't even need a god to tell us what we have to believe to, and what we have to do...there's a sense of conscience in everyone, and as long as we believe in our conscience, we should be able to tell what's right and what's wrong to do....but then, human are frail and weak creatures...believing in ourselves seems to be too hard, so then god was created...
did you know this, but it seems that a third person, possibly a stranger, has more effects on you than the same people who you have to listen to everyday? i think that this is the same theory apply to god.....now, once in a while, there's a person who has a twisted conscience, who believes in him/herself but believed in the wrong thing...i think that that happens when a person is raised in the wrong environment...in the arms of people who know what's the right and the wrong thing, but decided to do the wrong thing anyway...we are all the same kind when we were born, but what makes us different is how we were raised...
anyway, it's all depend on you to believe in yourself or not, "god" is quite like a tool...a tool to help you follow whatever path you want to....like i said earlier...god is a product of our mind, and was created because we need something to believe in since we don't believe in our own conscience....i think that the world wouldn't need a god if we all just listen and follow our own conscience, of course, the environment we were raised in would effects what we think is right or wrong tremendously....i would like to think that i don't have a religion, that i'm openminded and believe in my own conscience...however, that's sad isn't true...there's still a big part of me that wants to believe there's a higher being watching over me....i suppose it's all about being a human...we're weak and need something to believe in, but that's what make us human...i know that i contradict myself alot, but that's one of my main traits....

i certainly object the intelligent design theory, the concept that god actually exists and created the universe....it's quite different from the adam and eve version from the bible, but still, it's not logical to me that there's this higher being out there that created all this ....stuff (yea, leave it to me to call the whole complex creation of the universe "stuff) i believe in the scientific version of the evolution of mankind, in fact, human race is still evolving as i type, think about how our immune system adapts to different diseases and flu illnesses....human, like other animals, constantly adapts and evolves to fit our situation and environment....and that's how we survived....so the theory that god created us is discredit to me....
toward how the universe was formed, i also believe in the big bang theory, stars, chemical reactions, and to every cells in our bodies that were formed from all the chaos after the big bang....what happened before the big bang? i don't know...the path to our creation ended there....it might as well be that the last big bang was jsut part of an never ending cycle that never stops....destruction and resurrection go well together, eh....but then, the question would be, where did all these "stuff" (sorry ^^) came from?...what or who created this system and cycle?....this is all very interesting to me...to live long enough to be able to find out what supposedly triggered this cycle.....even if there's a god, he/she must've come out of somewhere therefore, i rather believe in the logical explanation....if might as well be that our later generation, sufficiently more intelligent than us, would be able to figure out how it all formed and happen, but for now, i would believe in what i can use my senses on....
what would happen if there's actually a devine force after everything? maybe there's actually a god that created the universe, mankind and every......that would also be a possibility...boy, imagine, that'd drastically change the world....however, for now, i believe in the logical explanation, and would hope to be able to believe in my own conscience, without the help of any god to let me know what's the right and wrong thing to do....i probably will pray to buddha or jesus or whatever when i'm in an unfavorable situation, but then, that's what makes me a human 😀

Isn't it odd just how intricately designed those immunity systems are? I mean you could break them down into cells, then into molecules and then into atoms and then into protons and electrons. In addition, if one of those TINY electrons were to not be in place, the entire molecular balance thereof would alter the entire structure. I'm not discrediting evolution, the point I'm trying to bring across is just how well and intelligently designed the universe truly is. Evolution seems to be merely adapting to new changes, and I don't believe intelligent design would discredit adaptations.

So if there was a bang that ended and began this one, where did the previous bang come from? I don't really find that all too logical? It just goes around in circles.
Just another hypothesis for this whole conundrum if anyone is interested is String/M Theory...if anyone is interested..lemme know..
Somehow, I just wanna answer this thread by saying "Blame it on Suzumiya Haruhi!"

I believe anything is possible. If there is a god or gods or whatever it's being higher then anyone could comprehend. You end up wondering about....If God created everything, He/She created evil too, the world and all are playthings. Man it's too cruel. Since God controls all, do we really have free will? Since God is perfect why are the things He/She create aren't always so? Does God have a God? etc...
I don't expect real answers so I rather not think about it and concentrate on living life as it is.

Oh... My... God.... this topic is so huge...
...err, pun not intended.
The world seems to be a breeding ground for resolute absolutes. You choose to believe one thing on faith, or you choose another on faith instead. Is abortion wrong? Is gay marriage wrong? It's all a bunch of confidence based on irrationality (Either way you look at it, there isn't a complete right answer. That's why it's controversial).
I think that the problem is that people believe that if they don't encourage or spread their views, their beliefs will fall out of favor with the public (or perhaps be forgotten completely). The problem is also compounded by the fact that governments are social institutions meant to establish a standard (or order if you will) among people. This has led to a use of political power to further establish ones beliefs.
I don't know what the correct answer to your question is. In all honesty, I would like to think of myself as someone who believes in God. I do not, however, believe in Christianity, or any of the other religions. Even then, the line is a thin one, and I'm not entirely sure what to believe. I'm not fond of believing just because of Pascal's wager, because if I believe, I want to believe because I am honest to myself. In the same respect however, I cannot dismiss my reason; I was raised to question everything, and to choose my beliefs wisely.
Because of this, I was forced to choose "maybe".

Wow... I certainly didn't expect to run into a topic like this on this website. ._. Ah well.
Technically, I'm agnostic since I am aware that there is no proof that such a being exists or that such a being does not exist.
However, I like to view the subject in a way that makes me an atheist. I see it similar to a scientific model. If you create a model and there is no proof supporting it or disproving it, you can't just say that it's right. You can't prove that the model is accurate until you get some evidence supporting it. It's just not accurate to say that something is proven correct just because "there isn't any evidence proving that it's wrong."
And, since that might've been confusing, I'll put it like this: I see God as being on the same ground as the Flying Spaghetti Monster, Zeus, unicorns, werewolves, faeries, vampires, dragons, etc. You cannot prove that any mythical being does not exist, but you also have no proof that it does. So, unless someone can give me irrevocable proof that a divine being (or any mythical creature) exists, I'll keep doubting.

@SyaoranX
evolution is about shaping and perfecting a being, so that'd explain how we have 1 electron for each proton in an atom....the intelligent design theory pretty much imply that god had created us perfect from the start, which, to put it plainly, is a load of crap to me....we are still evolving, and our bodies also evolve to fit in with the environment we live in...did you know this, but the flu virus continues to evolve into different stages as it goes around infecting people, it's contantly changing, and why? because the white blood cells in our bodies know how to absorb the information and evolve to fight out the flu when it gets attack too much....the common flu is a virus, which means you can't take medication to stop it....probably to sooth it, to make you feel better, yea, but since it's a flu, you can't cure the flu with medication....but after a couple of days maybe, it'll go away...that's because the white blood cells know how to absorb information and help to build up our immunity to that current stage of the flu virus....
god didn't create us as perfect as we can be right now from the start....we are the one that were able to adapt to the environment and evolve as time goes by....scientifically, we were all apes or monkeys or whatever thousands of thousands years ago, we were only able to evolve and learn how to stand up right, because of our own instinc and adaptation....nothing is perfected as it is from the start...the animals, the plants, and us, have all learned to change to be able to survive in our environment...if we haven't learn how to stand upright, or have a bit of intelligence to know how to hunt, we probably wouldn't be able to survive to evolve to a more advance stage....you can go look up the evolutionary theory of darwin on wikipedia, or something, and you can find actual facts to back it up...in my opinion, that intelligent design theory is just some a concept created to counter darwin's evolutionary theory, because apparently, some people just don't want to believe that sometimes long ago, we were lowly beings like apes with brain the size of a walnut....
as for the big bang thing, i already said that it could be part of the never ending cycle of destruction and resurrection....yes, no one can prove it right now, but for now, there're already scientific facts to back up that theory....now, what or who created that cycle, i have no idea, but probably because we're not the smartest of our kind yet....human race is still evolving, and so probably thousands and millions of years later, someone will be able to figure out what triggered the cycle....some being that will certainly be smarter than us right now....that'd also be link to the evolutionary theory, because i cannot accept that human will always remain in this state, with this level of intelligence, because if we're always gonna stay this way, then the world (or at least) the planet, will end soon by the hands of idiotic polititians who value the favors of super powerful and rich fuel companies than listen to what environmentalists are telling them, about global warming and such....an example would be george w. bush, who blindly refused to sign the kyoto protocol
