Believing in God

Well take my case for example I grew up as a muslim. I don't think 3-4 yrs ago if someone were to tell me that I'd be going to Bible study, I would have responded with a pleasant demeanor. It took something incredible by no stretch that it was God. It took a lot of "conincidences" for me to find out who Jesus really was.
You know...everyone's life is an incredible chain of coincidences such that, if things had happened just a little differently, their lives could be totally different. I honestly don't see anything mystical about it, just that life is full of possibilities. If you had asked me five years ago, I would never EVER have predicted that my life would be what it is now, and yet, here I am.

Well how about this. If there is eternal life, do you not think its worth your time to find out?

If God isn't real then explain to me how would there be life today? Don't give me the "Big Bang" theory because I think that is a load of bull. 😐

And as far as coincidences go, there must have alot happening to explain why in this current point in our history that so many muslims are having dreams about Jesus. For many people especially those that have grown up in america would probably say that these were simply just dreams and think nothing much of them. But for a muslim seeing Jesus in a dream means something very special. So much so that they are willing to loose their families, jobs, and ever their lives holding onto Christ. There are lots of these stories that have happened. In fact my family would fall under this category, because thats how my mom saw Jesus.

First off, don't act as if "scientists" and "science" are different people or a different religion. Science is as basic as trying out 4 different baseball bats to find out witch one suits you best. Scientists are just people who's job is to try to find something out or apply it. The only thing that distinguisches a doctor from a plumber is that most people understand basicly what the plumber does.
I don't know if god exists, and i don't really care, because so far he hasn't had any influence on my world. I don't care if the universe is the way it is because he created it that way or any other reason. It is the way it is and it doesn't seem to be changing.
What i don't understand is how people can look back on human history and see so many different religions, gods, cults and pantheons and not understand that their religion and their beliefs are one of many many many many.
I wouldn't normally be this harsch on religion but i just came back from a trip to chicago and the stuff i heard on the radio made my skin crawl.Really really really disturbing stuff.

Lalala... God only exists to those who believe in Him.
I don't believe in God... rather, I don't believe in the existence of the exact Christian, Jewish, Islam, or whatever other religion's God.
There may be a god out there, but for now, I reject his existence because of the lack of direct evidence.
I'm happy that there's discussion about all of this... but to tell you the truth, I didn't read most of them... because I have probably heard (and argued against/for) most of those sub-topics.
So! Just stating my opinion~ 🙂
Well, I remembered posting here yesterday... I don't see my post now. I guess someone deleted it or something (I backlogged and I didn't see it). It was a long post, after all. sigh
Anyway, I guess I shouldn't fell that much disappointed, I guess what DeLtA_IjK was kind of my opinion. We have the same opinion, but then again I guess It's more possible that I'm going to say yes on this question than he will.
I also go by amatsu.

Sort of OT here, but it always amuses me to see religous people (not just you, Zubz, nothing personal, this is something I've noticed for a long time) use their willingness to sacrifice family, job, etc. as proof that their religion must be the TRUTH...and yet are totally unwilling to see the parallel between that and gays being willing to sacrifice family, job, etc. because being gay is their TRUTH.

Thats a fair point, but I personally don't feel that comparing gays and Muslims who are being slaughtered because of their belief in Christ as an equal comparison. The reason I don't think so is b/c people who follow Christ are promised persecution for their beliefs, and are told to rejoice because of it. But Gays on the other hand don't want persecution, they wish to be treated equally as any other citizen. I don't think what Gays want is unreasonable they are human beings also, but my point in bringing up muslims isn't to prove God or prove a religion right. I simply brought it up because I think there is something more than coincidence that caused so many people in a very anti-son of God mentality to suddenly renounce a religion that they have followed for the majority of their life. I would just hope that this would be enough to get some people curious into the reality of God.
Can't world just exist without any kind of beginning?
It isn't ending anywhere so I could say it could've always
existed.

I have a idea on how to find out. We make a transmition devise that hooks on to a persons soul. We kill the person so when they go where ever they go they can tell us what happens 😛
I dont realy beleve in god. And if he does exist then i would say he not as great as people say he is. I mean ok he created life yeh but for all we know if could be just for his entertainment like building a lego you keep building it for 7 days straight and make a big castle and play with it. People always say how great god is and stuff. What i want to know what so great about him. Everyone say its all part of his plan but for all we know he could be just watching us and laghing at us at how stupid and ignorent we all are. When you look at how messed up and unfair this world is its very hard to beleve in god for me. Ill admit i think that there is some being that created us all but i dont beleve that its some great being it could be just someone with power to create life and that being made us so it could entertain it self.
If you want to beleve in god and beleve that god is a great and divine and perfect being then ok im just saying what i think. Im not bashing anyones religion im just saying what i beleve.

I would just ask if you could redo creation all over again what would you do? Would you make it perfect, like with no pollution, and green grass, no hole in the ozone.... Would you make it so there was no pain, and sufferning? Would you make it so that there was no aids epidemic? no diseases at all. Would you make it so that there was no food shortages and there was a perfect unconditional love and so on and so forth? Well thats exactly how God made the world. It was paradise and it was perfect. Unfortunately a pair of people made a really poor choice and infected this world with a plague called sin. It infects everything we do. If you don't believe me just read a news paper. Murders, rapes, wars, disease.... Is God really at fault here. I think if you started reading the Old Testament you will see that there is a continuous pattern. We screw up and God tries to compensate. If you are serious in terms of finding God, you have to take a leap of faith in terms of looking for him. God is working on fixing up creation but he isn't doing it by moving mountains and causing the sea to split apart physically. He is doing it with individuals. Jesus once said that the kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed. It is one of the smallest seeds but when it grows up it becomes the biggest plant in the garden.

Shut the hell up already you narc. The admins should put a special rule for you for every post about God you write you have to do 10 more posts in the other topics about non god related stuff. That would be like 700~800 posts. Then you'd be making a meaningful cotribution. Don't you have somewhere to go like church or go start a fan boy fan club for your saviour. Leave us alone. I'm tired of this crap won't someone tell him to stfu. Or cause he's so strongly for god do you guys feel that if you tell him to pack up and shoo you'll receive divine retribution or something? Wake up this guy isn't here about manga he's mentioned manga like once or twice. He's just here trying to shove his beliefs down our throats. I know cause when I told my parents I wasn't going back to church they got all the relatives and friends they could find to re convert me and you sound just like they did zubz cept you're ten times more annoying. Shoo. I don't mind getting in trouble I feel it needs to be said cause as a member I have rights here just like you and you're infringing on mine. Go shoo!

luisalirio, you're often quick to flame up but this time, i'm totally with you. Except that I refrained myself before cause I didn't want to sink to the same level. But this crap is getting on my nerves.
Zubz, I seem to recall that you mentionned yourself that nobody was going to change his or her beliefs here. So please, stop trying to persuade us! Believe whatever you want, it's great, but don't inflict it on us anymore.
