Fat is good for you too! Fat provides insulation in the cold months for your insides to maintain a healthy body temp. Also, fat is stored energy, if for some reason, you cannot eat for a few days, you will still survive because your body can convert fat to energy to keep your body processes going. Also fat lubricates the synapses in your nervous system. And we all know that the nervous system is important (right?)

I'm not saying go out and eat a big cup of fat. But a healthy amount of fat is necessary for survival. What you have to watch out for is Trans-fat. that stuff will kill you like a bullet.

Are you ever scared for a cock-a-roach when you step on it? where does it's little soul go? It goes back into the energy of life on the planet. There is no Heaven for biddy-widdy roaches. I'm afraid I don't know you personally, or know what beliefs or what background you come from so please bear with me. But the reason you were created was to be in fellowship with God. You were designed just like every human being to be in a relationship with him, that is to be loved by God. You were made in his image, like a canvas(painting) so that God can express his love and glory to others by way of you. You were designed to be loved and to love. But you are also different from the billions of people that exist now, and the billions of people that have passed on, you were designed in a specific way to glorify God. This type of statement is one of the top statements that pisses me the hell off. Something I'm concerned about: We won't know our specific purpose in life until we believe in God? I forget who said this (browsing too quickly =_=), but I'd like to disagree.

Whoever said that, that was completely baseless... (that is, if you meant it in the way I'm thinking.)... I know for a fact that believing in God does not suddenly make one clairvoyant of the future and what he should do. I also know for a fact that deciding that you're an atheist does not give you knowledge of your purpose in life.

Knowing what specific purpose you have in life depends upon how mature you are... and even then, some people may not ever discover what their purpose is. I suppose that most people, when they grow old, can reflect back upon their life (whether religious or not) and discover what they did do that helped the world.

However, knowing your specific purpose... and to go about making that change in your life so that you can aim towards it requires only maturity, willpower, and ability. It has nothing to do with believing in a deity (or lack thereof).

Lol. God and meat are involved with one another. I wonder why... some religions forbid you to eat certain meats such as... cows or pigs or such... or determine what could be kosher. Hummm... it's very, very much strange, but I actually don't know why.

Does anyone know the various stories of why some animals are held in higher or lower regard, and thus are not able to be eaten by humans (by the will of whichever God deemed it to be so)? I'd love to hear.

I'd rather just turn into some mud like all the other people before me who are part of my cells. Life needs no meaning.

Pigs were found to be unclean because they eat their own feces and that is gross. Since they are already full of bacteria, the meat doesn't stay good very long, and as it goes rotten actually tastes sweeter. It killed people back in the days and became a taboo to eat the meat of a cloven hoofed animal. Then when monotheistic religions took over, the best way to get conversion was to make practices and beliefs from the original culture part of the new religion. For instance, Dec 25 waas the winter solstice and people would party and drink eggnog and exchange gifts. So Christianity came around an said, be a Christian, we also party and drink eggnog and have deciduous trees and give presents. It was just easier to get a person to convert if they don't have to change their way of life.

As far as Hindus with Beef, I think it goes something that after you are reincarnated you may be a cow and no one wants to eat grandma. Also, since cows pull the plow and give milk, if you eat them you have to do all the work yourself and where would you get milk now smart guy?

Pretty sure that's how it goes. Zubz will prolly say I'm wrong and make me read a bunch of propaganda again.

First of all I don't exactly like this topic myself. And you don't imagine in what kind of bad mood I am when I have to read all this s... stuff. I hate religious propaganda, but I also hate atheist propaganda just as much.
