I disagree with this because i doesn't make sense, because acording to the religions whose creation stories i know, people and animals were made at more or less the same time. Are you implying God Practiced His religion before he created the universe?

According to my religion, before humans were created, god created other beings such as the angels and beings made of fire, water, wind etc. (no, not captain planet 🤣 )
Adam came after and the beings were told to bow down to him. The beings of fire declined saying that they were of a higher class as they were made of fire whereas Man(Adam) was made of the earth. I don't think I need to say what these beings of fire were >_>

But anyways...yeah. A little "history" lesson there. Whether you choose to believe or not 🙂

yah see i didn't know that lol. learn something new every day. and too bad about the no captain planet thing there, hes a pretty cool guy. (what the hell is with the power of heart, honestly who wrote for that show...>_>

Oooh, ooh! Were they djinns?! (Wind/water/earth/fire aren't actually elements, just in case you didn't know.)

Anyway, I actually am explicitly stating that Atheists are inherently smarter than Theists. I could explain further, but some people's feelings will get hurt and then they'll get the mods involved to shut me up. ;_;

the only instance of the word elements on this page is you saying it so i don't see any reason to point that out. And please do explain your reasoning, don't hype up the story and then decide not to tell it, its not nice. 😀

Yes, they were "djinns" or h/e it's really spelled >.> and also other beings

You just said it there >.< and a mod would tell you to shush.

If that can be taken any other way than offensive, I don't see how.

Inherently? 🤣 That's a heavy implication right there. You really might want to read Dawkins' book, you're like two peas in a pod.

Would you care to explain what else the combination of wind, water, earth and fire could be considered? If not elements, then what?

The mods don't like me as is. I don't see why I should cut down on some Theists only to have their buddies kick me off the site. Seems like a bad plan. I was just putting it out there that I think Theists are morons.

Scyfon...Lol, irony. Can't believe you'd go and try to find that quote.

Wow and to think you called me arrogant and ignorant. After all making universal statements is one of the easiest ways to make yourself seem like a fool.

Sweet more people who decided that it is better to discuss things in a civil manner instead of making a total moron of oneself (though in some instances I suppose I might fit into that, but after all I am human and flawed by very definition).

Would you care to explain what else the combination of wind, water, earth and fire could be considered? If not elements, then what? Aspects of Nature? i didn't really see what your point was in the first place, i was just wondering why you would bring up something he didn't say. Irrelevant anyway.

I think that that is a ridiculous and unfounded argument. Prove it to me.

And agree with TwilightDrgn, Civilized Discussions are fun.

You fail at English. :/

Let me spell out for you. I understand you probably don't get the finer points of a discussion because you're a Theist. It's ok. I forgive you. "If wind, water, fire, and earth were to be categorized as anything, even incorrectly, they would be categorized as elements. This is really the only common categorization of those four items. In the sense of real elements, they hardly shake out, so they're as pseudo-elements." Do you get it now or do I have to bring the comprehension level down to that of 5th grade?

It's not irony on your part. The statement is ironic considering you're using it to prove a point against me and it was originally used against a guy who was trying to insult me (and doing a bad job of it).

Come on Drgn, don't be mad. I don't get where I said I was humble so I'm kind of confused as to why you're so surprised that I think I'm smarter than most people in the world.

Edit: LOL, you linked to ED. Welcome to the internet.

You do know that flaming is banned here right? o.O
I only entered this thread to straighten something out. But it feels like I'm being shot down. Actually...yes. You've been calling me(and other theists) a moron.
Keep it clean why don't ya?

Well, I can agree to some extent.

Studies have shown that the higher someone's I.Q., the less likely they are to believe in a god/religion. (This trend normally carries to countries... Except the US. It's the only country where it has a high I.Q. AND a high percentage of religious people.) And, while it's not intelligence itself, per se, surveys have shown that the higher "rank" a scientist is, the less likely they are to believe in a deity of a sort. (I'm pretty sure these are mentioned in both the God Delusion and the End of Faith, but I don't have them on hand to search for the direct source.)

But I don't really think that atheists are smarter. I think it's more of a matter of how you were raised. If my parents were particularly religious (they're religious, but not very) and it was more of a focal point when I was growing up, I'm pretty sure that I wouldn't be an atheist right now.

In fact, I don't think I'd really have a big deal with religion if parents and adults in general just allowed kids to decide how they stand on religion instead of forcing their beliefs on them. At least then kids could actually think for themselves and create their own arguments for their reasonings.

And I agree with UberZombie. The element discussion is a rather pointless tangent. Interesting, yes. Applicable to this subject? Not so much.
