i second Miriam. it's super good, and very funny. Plus the age gap is very noticeable, but the romance doesn't begin like one would expect (at least I didn't expect it).

I loved Miriam. Wow, I read these too fast and then it's hard to find anything :S
Have you both finished the sequels??

the sequels of Miriam? I've read them both. I would say that you can't really appreciate the story without the sequels. In particular the first one, that's when their relationship really changes :]

As I come to think of it, the age gap in Aniki wa Tsunayoshi! may also be about 9 years. Besides this rather edgy drawn story, there are Dengeki Daisy (She is about 16, while he is 24) and also Rouge Noir (Well, he is younger and she was once his home tutor) left to mention, after reading the other recommendations here. ^^"

Try DON'T CRY, GIRL:
It's very funny and the main lead girl has a very nice character. You won't regret reading it 🙂

Drama or angsty type ones:
Biyaku Café
Toshokan Sensou: Love & War
Otona no Jikan
Torikagosou no Kyou mo Nemutai Juunintachi not so much romance yet,
Seconding Daisuki Datta yo, Sensei... and Hakuji

sweet/cute:
Kyou mo Ashita mo
V.B. Rose One of my favourites
Nil no Koi☆Mahoujin Only 5 year gap, but you might like it too

Still not sure if I really like or really dislike these, but I think the gap is right.
Suki ni Natte mo Ii no?
Kanojo wa Uso wo Aishisugiteru

Yesterday I caught up reading Yume Miru Taiyou and came to think it's a pretty nice story, even if the age gap between the characters is just about 5 years. However, maybe it will anyhow suit your taste, too? ^^

Well, the male counterpart actually keeps the age difference always in mind, all the more since some people around him openly also do and say so, while the female lead doesn't see a problem within this.

The Prince's Cactus older female[/quote]

Do they actually mention their ages there? I always thought they were close in age. She just happened to be his aunt by marriage.

Anyway, yeah, I agree about Miriam. I think its one of the best "age difference" romance stories I've read due to how gradual and quite realistic the characters' romance was. The only problem I had with it was how many of the men there had long hair. I don't think long hair for men was fashionable in the 19th century American west

I want would recommend P TO JK although the age different is 4 years. It is a shoujo manga with no smut/ecchi/whatsoever.
