-Dorky sweet characters: Miman Renai, Densha Otoko - Net Hatsu, Kakueki Teisha no Love Story, Otomen, Ouran Host Club's Tamaki

-Not too mean to the main guy tsunderes: Yandere Kanojo, Toradora!

-Non-abusive tsundere guys: Dengeki Daisy, Lovely Complex

-Cold, hard to get, and seemingly uninterested guys: Nodame Cantabile, Sensei!, Itazura Na Kiss

-Cute, sweet, and innocent heroines: Kimi Ni Todoke, Chibi Vampire

-Laid back guys: Flat (AOGIRI Natsu)

-Smart, confident, but not bitchy heroines: Kare Kano

-Nice guys: Monkey High, Kimi Ni Todoke, Toradora!

-Weird, quirky girls: Lovely Complex, Dengeki Daisy, High School Debut

Hate:
-Almost all Shinjo Mayu and Minami Kanan characters. Basically abusive controlling guys and weak spineless girls who love the abusive guy.

-Random rivals who love the main character for no reason.

-Traitors. All of them.

-Bitchy, mouthy girls who nag: Arago Rio, High School Of The Dead Rei. I can only handle them if the main guy is also a jerk so they can just slap the shit out of each other until they fall in love. Like in Hana Yori Dango.

-Kind and airheaded heroines who hurt the main character but have good intentions: Ginen Shounen, Kimi No Iru Machi

-Cheaters: all of them. Especially Takumi from NANA. Nobu is the best male character in that series. Too bad he's with a whore. 🙁 Why does the good guy have to have a cum dumpster girlfriend? Where's the justice in that? But then so is Hachi. None of them are good for him. Poor boy. 😔

Pity daters: Each and every one of them. They make me rage so badly. As in I wish I could draw a serial killer, insert him/her into the manga, and have him/her hunt all the pity daters down.

Silent Samurai or Kendo girls, Cool acting Shounen guys that you can't fathom how strong they are, really kind guy characters or characters similar to Lelouch Lamperouge from Code Geass and Light Yagami from Death Note.

As for characters I don't like, there's only one thing I really dislike more than anything else: and that's mean people.

I really don't like any rape-is-love male leads and the girls who fall for them... also, manipulative characters have a way of really getting under my skin.

-'Cool' and manipulative protagonists (eg: Lelouch, Light, Hiruma from Eyeshield 21, Tokuchi from One Outs) & smart characters (their actions have to be smart too! NOT like the girl from Special A)

-Strong heroines or possibly crazy/psycho heroines (eg: Saeko from HOTD, Kyoko from Skip Beat, Feng Lan from 1/2 Prince... uh...etc)

-Andrognous/beautiful/hot characters (bishies)

-'Cool' (I use that word again...) characters oblivious to LOVE.

-Indifferent main characters who don't give a damn about other people!!! 😃

HATE:
-Weak female leads (who may be dumb). Smut usually has characters like that. & airheads.

I loathe heroines that are utterly weak and useless. Those that always cry and have the hero protect them or such. I remember going berserk on Fairy Tail >.< I was saying stuff like: "Use your keys Lucy! Don't just hide there! Yes, they may look pretty, but they're not just for Decoration!!!"

Well I hate the cliche in any genre - harem, shounen, shoujo etc. respectively I don't like the characters in it. The characters I like must be unique in some way, example Dorohedoro, Black lagoon etc.

MALE characters

I like those who stay true to their feelings, those who only love one person and do not waver whatsoever.
I like those who are brave and aren't necessarily strong but they can stand up for what they want to protect.

I hate those who have harem and those who break girls' heart. I hate those who are rude to their family and seniors.
I hate those who are too perfect.

FEMALE characters

no preference, as long as they aren't too evil, I love them all.

In boys, too much perverted boys, ugly side characters, street boys that pick up girls, wolf on sheep's skin. But I really love strong girls, girls that are good in sports, tsunderes, funny girls, smart and strong girls. In boys, manly, blushes when needed, mysterious, bishounen. LOL.

Anti-heroes.

Yeah, I know its cliche but I'm just sick and tired of "lets all be friends and cooperate to save the world" bullshit characters. There are so many stories (manga or otherwise) where the "average" people is a bitter, hardened fighter simply because the local environment demands it (let alone the badasses who don't spend their entire lives in the safety of town/village/settlement/castle/fort) and the main character goes around and turns everyone into one great big happy family.

Same here! I should add the straight forward kind of character and the spacey ones, like Zoro, Luffy and Hong Sul from Cheese in the Trap.

Male characters:
One who stays true to his goal, but is not idealistic

Female characters:
Supportive, understanding, strong mentality, not one to always use force on others (like those who can beat up the male leads) but also not a super weak girl asking to be protected. Most importantly, the female lead must not be bitchy ; also does not complain if they're entrusted with some grand task or whatever.
