Kaze no garudoru and Berserk if you need nature environments- I'm listing them just in case~

And mangakas with great artwork are Yuki Kaori Mihara Mitsukazu Hino Matsuri Oh! Great You Higuri and the artist of Skyhigh (too lazy to look up the name).

X/1999
Ayashi no Ceres
E's
Angel Sanctuary

I loved the artwork in all of these. If I could draw I would definitely attempt drawing some of the scenes myself.

An old topic, but I'll bump it anyways.

Quote from x_Panda_Panda_x

Personality does not matter

When you're drawing a character the personality DOES matter! The facial expressions, habits, clothing, pretty much everything is related to the character's personality.

If you want inspiration, here's some artists who's works you should look into: Iwaaki Hitoshi, Takahashi Tsutomu, Arai Hideki, Matsumoto Taiyo, Toume Kei, Kuroda Iou, Kita Yasuaki. Their art is a good change for mainstream, and the characters designs are great for inspiration, escpecially the personality and how it shows in the art.

And read the manga Japan as Viewed by 17 Creators and Robot.

I don't think any manga can top C.A.T. in terms of art or character design. It's absolutely gorgeous, I so want it to be continued. And if you haven't read it, go read it! Like, right now!

Luwig from Ludwig Kakumei.
Count D from Petshop of Horrors.
Gilbert from Kaze to Ki no Uta.

Also, I like Lee So Young's characters (like in Horror Collector) but they are very stylized, and not for everyone.

Even if I didn't like the series much, I do like the character designs in Furuba. They are cute and generically appealing.

The guy's a digital artist. Digital art has it's own charm, but it's a different type from other art, you shouldn't compare them like that.
Some people like comedy manga, some people like romantic shoujo manga, some like sketchy art, some like detailed and realistic art. Sometimes it feels good to read manga with realistic art, sometimes it feels good to read manga with shounenish art.

The amount of digital art in manhua has been increasing lately. And it does feel nice to read them every once in a while.

I love TAKAGUCHI Satosumi, MIZUKAMI Shin and AZUMI Moka. I'm current reading a manga by TAKAGUCHI Satosumi that I wasn't going to read just because I couldn't resist to the characters design. MIZUKAMI Shin is my fav for fantasy characters such as gods and fairies and AZUMI Moka have the most beautiful bishonens I ever saw in a manga.
