Depends on what we're talking about. With my best friend we usually swtich to English and continue talking.
I also usually speak in Russian, so if the person that passes doesn't seem to know the language I'll just continue.
But from time to time it happens that I can't avoid being heard/understood so I just hush up, and wait untill the person passes.

lol, today a couple of Brittish people walked past us, (there was some kind of festival with lots of countries)
and as soon as they reached us, they stopped talking, until they thought we couldn't hear them anymore ^_^ I laughed my ass off ^^

Nah I don't, but I can't help it if my friends don't want to speak when there's someone walking past, so I have to wait as well 🤣

I find it funny when people do it to me when i'm walking past them. I always always notice. As if i'm going to understand what the hell they're talking about anyway. It raises my awareness of them when they fall slient anyway, funnily enough.

It depends. If me and my friend will be the one passing by some1 else, then we will stop (usually we will split and pass by each side of the stranger) more cause it will be disturbing to him/her than it's not like we don't want other ppl to hear us.
Also depends with whom i am walking, i've got friends that will not cease talking even if their lives where threatened! 😛

Depends on the situation... A known person/friend, I suddenly raise my volume and start saying off all the scandalous things/activities/weaknesses/tantrums he/she was involved in...

An unknown person or the conversation is about something I can't let anyone hear... I suddenly change topic.

Friend : What then?
Me : ... and then I saw the two of them get lovey dovey in the corner of the empty class...

Me : ...but it's also interesting to know that any normal car with a 6L engine is easily faster than those tonne wise huge Diesel Engines, though they develop more torque and power.

Unless I'm talking about something REALLY private, then no, I don't stop my conversation. You're more likely to draw someone's attention to yourself if you stop than if you continue to act normally and continue with the conversation.
