A moment of silence?
I'd usually keep talking so they dont feel awkward walking past, but turn the conversation phatic.

I keep talking as well, unless I with one of my friend that would allways say "what? you said that girl is hot?". When I am feeling happy I would answer "hell yeah, look at those thighs". Or when I am at my cousins beach house I allways stop to greet people in the street since it is a small town, even if we don't know the person we allways say at least "hi".

I keep talking...i have a low attention span so i wouldn't even notice him/her/them...lol i remember one time i was speaking out loud and i didn't even notice i was walking by an open funeral and i was still talking really loud until a friend told me to be quiet for a while 🤣
I keep talking.. unless, it's something I don't want people to just hear..
Which doesn't happen often..

Chances are, I would stop just to say "hi," as I've been so conditoned (as in Pavlovian Conditioning) to greet everything that moves or risk losing my job.
I greeted a passing car once. No joke.

I would probably go on with my story. No need to shush.
What's so strange in greeting random people in cars? That's pretty common where I live 😉

Where I am living now we also greet passing cars since it is a small town and normaly enveryone knows everyone and if it is an unknown person we still say hi. Sometimes cars and people would sotp at the middle of the street to talk about the family and the news.

It really depends on exactly what's being discussed. If it's an extremely personal matter-possibly, but we usually don't talk about things like that in public. So, no, the conversation is not stopped simply because someone passes by us.

I just keep on talking, it's a stranger, I don't know who it is, they won't know what I'm talking about anyways~ No need to stop for a person who I have no association with.

It would seem that it is a poll flood...
and I typoed the question. =<=
I have this habit and I was just wondering if it was common,
cultural, or an individual thing. When someone passes me
when I am walking down the street and speaking with someone,
I stop speaking.
I go completely silent, even if I was humming or something.
Not even a sound of inhaling.
Sometimes I even forget what I was doing. D:
I find it rather bothering and I was wondering if anyone
else has this habit and/or finds it troublesome. 🤣If you think that this poll already exists, feel free
to blow it to smithereens.
Uhm sure youre a strange one, my friend! 🤣
Anyway, if im talking with a friend and someone passes us (surpasses, doesnt step* through *us talking), i continue the chat/discussion. I have no qualms being heard while speaking about anything, be it sex, anti-religion talks, buttsecks jokes or whatever: if some passerby makes an observation, the reply is "and who might you be?"
If im talking about something very personal, maybe im going to lessen the volume of my voice, of course: in all the cases above, who cares!

I would scream at the stranger and then make a strange noise like "WEEEEEEE!" then talk normal again
