uncommon romance

I'm looking for some good uncommon romance mangas (if possible not manwhas because I often don't like the art). Either shounen, seinen, shoujo or josei is ok. I'd prefer none or close to none ecchi or least less enough not to have any importance in the story especially when its seinen... When it's shoujo or josei it would be nice if the plot does NOT only consist of how the guy(s) look(s) like (of course it should be the same with shounen and seinen and girl(s) respectively - a plot would be really nice). If possible it also shouldn't be harem, its kind of always the same...
for the "uncommon" part it doesn't matter if the characters have special powers or the circumstances are special (e.g. like in Bitter Virgin). It can be fantasy, supernatural, adventure, drama, tragedy doens't really matter as long as there's enough in it that makes it a less common daily-life-story. Human-nonhuman relationships are also fine.
please check out my completed and tracking lists whether I read the manga already (well my problem is I don't really find new good ones the regular way anymore), I guess the andvanced readers also can also grasp the criteria by looking at the list...
Ah and no oneshots please, I would really like to have to read a bit^^
Thanks in advance 🙂

Heaven's Door (HONGOU Ranko)... its just... a masterpiece
Akkan Baby You can't read this manga seriously, it will drive you insane. but it is hilarious!
The Prince's Cactus It has a rare female lead that you don't find alot.
Superior My personal favorite manga, and i think it fits the uncommon romance very well.

"Uncommon Romance", heh Nozoki Ana fits the bill.
Lots of H, but still an interesting read.

speaking of webcomics I just picked up Orange Marmalade and I'm finding it rather interesting. Which I just saw is on one for your lists >.>
Fruits Basket Maybe, not sure it'll be your thing though judging from your lists but I could be wrong.
ES more supernatural than romance if I recall but I <3 it
you know what's a suprisingly good manga despite the fact that the protagonists are young? Kodomo no Omocha I'd been avoiding it forever because of the elementary school thing but its actually awesome.
you've got Arakure on your list, well I think I found Grand Sun similar, if memory serves
Land of the Blindfolded comes to mind as well.

I second that strongly 😁

Do read Please Save My Earth!! It's such a good read and vey untypical!
Anata ga Ireba for the supernatural part but if you only look for a good solid manga, check her other work Bara no Tameni. I feel like highlighting the manga because it's so true. Art is a bit of a turn-off but the story is AWESOME

I recommend Gokusen. The romance is very uncommon.

YES!! Gokusen has some crude humor with bad artwork in the beginning but stick with it! It gets AWESOME.

I'm gonna add Basara. Everything about the romance is uncommon. 😀
This part of the plot is RIGHT near the beginning, but I'll put it in spoiler tags anyways.
Female Lead meets Male lead alone in a hotspring while she is acting as a girl. However, both female lead and male lead are mortal enemies in real life, while neither know the others true identity.
If you don't want the spoiler of the strangeness, just start reading. It'll make itself clear pretty soon. 😉

Most of those suggestions seem to be shoujo and josei. For shounen/seinen, try
Hentai Ouji to Warawanai Neko
Mysterious Girlfriend X
Sankarea
...aaaaaand Koharu no Hibi 😀

I've heard of a story and I deeply apologise cause I can't remember the name of it now, pretty much someone's soul gets into a cactus to meet someone I believe, there was some connection to a cactus, I can't remember if it was a full blow romance story, it was pretty unusual considering it was done via someone's soul in a cactus which was received as a gift, I believe the person even died... Its quite vague.

^Definitely check these out. I can't speak for Hentai Ouji, never read it. Can't wait for another chap. of Koharu no Hibi; definition of an "uncommon romance." I would also add:
Kimi wa Pet - really good
Melo Holic - psychological; webtoon
Nineteen, Twenty-one - light, on content and on the romance; webtoon
Midori no Hibi - light but definitely uncommon
Nana to Kaoru - My favorite by far. It has some ecchi elements (the backdrop is light BDSM) but it's just a catalyst for the two main characters to connect romantically and there is no nudity or anything. Really worth a look.
