I think that's the way to describe this- I still remember this manga after reading countless others. As usual, Asou Kai's art is lovely- smooth and pretty, but not too feminine. Although at times, I don't appreciate the characters and sometimes the plot makes me angry, it's still a great manga. It's touching and almost poetic in style. Very nice- there are still funny moments and sweet moments, but there's a rawness in the drama that occurs that prevents it from seeming canned or hackneyed; rather, it's refreshing, and really captures your attention. Recommended for sure.

The actual series SOKO NI SUWARU NA is ok in my opinion. I have a thing for the 'unrequited love' genre but this series didn't really meet my expectations. I prefered the one shot, to be honest. It was something easier to read than the series itself. I expected more drama for the series itself (guess that's why I'm a tad upset)

I happened to notice that every time Asou Kai writes the story, her one shots seem better than the stories themselves. Not that I'm putting them (the series stories) down. I just happened to think it's better because it's easy to read and it doesn't involve too much drama.

the manga was good, but nothing more, its just good to pass time when you have nothing better to read,
i usually like roomate thing but i disliked this one wonder why ?
it did'nt give me " Heart-beating " things too bad...

But the one-shot was awsome ! really too cute for word ! it tottally fit my taste ! i really like when kids kiss innocently too cute !!

Fureru Chikasa de (So Close That It Touches)

WHERE DO I BEGIN? I JUST LOVE IT! If you've read Kawai Toko's "Situation" from bondZ, you'd understand. They had what each story lacked. Anyways, I dont want to focus on comparing. Despite the slight resemblance, I actually love this one-shot on a whole different level! I feel like I could re-read this forever.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
From the very beginning it was obvious that the seme was in love with the uke, otherwise he wouldn't have blushed when they kissed. Then his behavior after that just proved it more. So it's very touching when you read these kinds of stories. First, they're aware that homosexuality is not accepted so they try to supress themselves, very realistic. Not that I'm saying being realistic is the way to go but seeing something as a "wishfull possibility" is one major plus for a story.
I don't want to go any further with reviewing scenes from the story, afraid it'll give away the whole plot. Plus it's worth reading. It's a good thing there's no summary... The summary would make you expect & assume how the flow of the plot would go. Just read it and enjoy!

Wow! This one is a rare, heart-wrenching and poetic treasure that made me smile happily, have heart lurches, feel angsty butterflies, and get all excited--over and over.

The art is bishounen, but has that sharp angle look that makes it outstandingly masculine at the same time. The faces are subtly yet explosively expressive, as is the way the characters' move their bodies. Plus, Asou-sensei knows what to do with the page as she choose her panels and what is inside them carefully.

And the stories! Every single chapter was a delight. I found myself going back and rereading scenes immediately after finishing them, because they were so wonderful, and with so much drama and depth to the behaviour and words. The stories were not predictable; the crisis didn't come to a head where I thought it would, but when and where the conflict arose made complete sense, as did the various characters' reactions. Each character was distinct and likeable in their own way, even the 'villain' Maki.

Not only can Asou-sensei do longer stories, such as the title story, but she can do incredible one shots, such as the one included as the final chapter in this tankobon, as well. To me, this is a signal that an author/illustrator knows what they are doing with the visual narrative.

The scanlation team did a professional job--the story and art shone with their careful translations and skilled cleaning.
