Description
A high-school boy named Manaka Hiromi is given the magical power of the Red Garnet Princess to defeat the Devil King who is trying to escape Hell (or something like that). Unfortunately for him he's also given the sort of body that comes with the job description.

I'm a simple person. I love gender bender, I love fantasy and I love comedy done well. So this manga got me right at the start with its straightforward "plot", and although I was a bit discouraged by some other comments, I continued reading and it didn't disappoint: The main couple is just too CUTE and all the shenanigans they go through over the course of these 20 chapters are always hilarious!
It might be outrageous to admit, but in my opinion Magical Change's got Ranma 1/2 vibes (minus the combat) and the humour is very 90's. I guess I understand why people might dislike this sort of manga, but it's totally my thing and I think Magical Change is greatly underrated.

If your reading this to kill time sure give it a go but don't expect anything more meaningful from it you will be disappointed otherwise it's a fairly light hearted manga. It's kind disappointing although the dk starts out only intrested in the female hiromi he does gradually stop caring which is which (even going so far as to gender swap himself) but it all kinda ends

without any real progress even though it looked like there might have been towards the end, then they pulled one of those back to square one endings....
I enjoyed this until the end.
This manga started out good but then turned into a flopping mess. Every chapter is just a series of tom foolery that I don't even find funny. The manga behaves like they are going to put hiromi and the phantom together, but keeps fooling around with it. At first I didn't really mind that until the phantom became a girl, then the manga reminded me of another failed manga "Akane overdrive." What that made Akane overdrive a fail was it's ending when they made the male lead return back to his body from a female and turned his male friend that he was falling in love with, into a female. And they got together like that. This manga seems to be taking the same direction,nto which bothers me deeply.
I don't know if I will continue reading this.
But if you like gender bender, and after the mood between the leads is set, the gender bender reverses then you will enjoy this. But if you just like gender bender without the leads switching roles towards the end, you won't enjoy this if you are like me.
I honestly hope that manga ending doesn't not become disappointing, but not all the chapters are scanned yet. Hopefully the last chapter will change my mind. ( Thank you whoever is translating this.)
