Godhand Teru was the first medically themed manga that I read. To be fair, when I finished it I couldn't wait for the releases to come out, I re-read it, and looked for other mangas like it. Having read Saijou no Meii and Team Medical Dragon, I now find this sadly lacking. If you forget about the fact that he's never performed surgery before the first chapter, and imagine that he's had lots of training in some foriegn country then came to Japan, it's plausible. But he hasn't. However, the actual surgery scenes are okay, but I would really recommend Saijou no Meii or TMD over this.

It's as good as Detective Conan. If you love DC, you don't want to miss this one. The story is very original and highly educated. It's funny and heart warming at the same time. If anyone of you dreams to become a doctor, this is a good and entertaining way to start your career (from personal experience)!!!

Summary: Teru Mahigashi is a surgeon just out of medical school. Saving lives and helping people is the point of his chosen profession, and he seems pretty good at it, when he's not screwing up. People wonder why he has decided to become a doctor, when he is so clumsy, until his past starts reveal, and his ability to save lives becomes apparent with each operation... Gradually, Teru and all of his colleagues will make a huge change in the medical world (from Tama-Chan Scans)
To have a successful surgery, an excellent doctor is not everything. There must be the effort of all the team members. And here (at the hospital that Teru is working), you will meet a facility which surpasses anywhere else, both in skill and in heart.

i love it. its funny!

After a while, it's pretty much the same thing over and over. The main character selfishly saves everyone, but sucks at everything except surgery.
