From CMX:

High school student Yukari Fujimaru knows a potential star when she sees one…because she sees the special "aura" they give off, in the form of angelic wings. Yukari's fellow student, the beautiful Ryoko Katsuragi, has a small pair of wings herself, and is one of these aspiring talents. She's so talented, in fact, that no one even knows that "she" is actually a boy in disguise. Now, to make her own down-to-earth dream come true, Yukari must help her new friend become a star.

It's an amazing manga but the only thing that kills you is
Spoiler (highlight to view)
the ending
but otherwise amazing read.

I expected much of this and was really disappointed with the end.
Spoiler (highlight to view)
You see that Ryou and Aya fall in love with Fujimaru but she never actually stays with any of them nor does any of them confess to her NOR DOES SHE. It's really frustrating when stories end like this.
'Sides that, the manga isn't so bad at all, it has its ups and down, of course.
But if you're looking for great romance developing you've got the wrong manga indeed.
I'm as disappointed as in ''Penguin Brothers''...Silly penguins.

I agree, it's not very realistic, but I gave it a 10 anyways.

The ending was indeed rushed (so typical of this mangaka(?)) , but I thought the overall story was really good. It was an interesting plot with few, but very likable, characters.
The main reason why I like the story so much is because it gives me a warm fuzzy feeling. It's a very fluffy story. It's not too heavy, not tragic, not deep - just very light, simple and cute. Not too many characters which is good.

Disappointing Ending

Before you read this, you should know... there is NO resolution to any of the potential relationships. The ending was sudden and half-baked; all of a sudden it's "10 years later" (where they all look exactly the same) and there's no real conclusion. Other than the ending it was good--not amazing, but very solid. The plot can be ridiculous (but still believable), the art is nice, and the characters are definitely likable. It's fluffy and sparkly and cute, but a light, airy shoujo was just what I wanted.

I'm kind of frustrated because the entire thing was absolutely adorable, but the mangaka really ruined it by just cutting the series off like that... if she just had 1 more volume to tie up the loose ends it would've been a lot better.

okay so this manga might not seem much for its cover and in the first chapter but as you read along you will get the idea. This manga is very interesting in the beginnning but if you wish for romance, it's not much. I mean like you would know who likes who eventually but its not really mainly that... There's like new stories that pop up and then some are no not ended and the main idea kinda changes.

The story was not entirely solid but if you just go with the flow and dunt be so demanding it can become addicting. I'm completely obssesed with Aya because he is so cool and HOT! Just enjoy it.

It gets confusing but noone such just criticize about there are good points, geez noone understand how rough it is for a manga author and artist for me i think this manga was a cute showbiz kinda manga totally loved it
Also the ending is something...

throughout this series, i kept alternating between laughing, smiling ang going 'awwhh'! it was simply MAGNIFICENT!! man the characters were so cool. and Yukari is my favorite female lead so far, next to Kiri Koshiba from Beauty Pop.
The character growth was really amazing in this series. each of the characters' past just simply added to the awsomeness of this manga. I LOVED IT!
ahh man i wish it was longer! and that the ending was a little more...shoujo-shiny romantic and that
Spoiler (highlight to view)
they told you who yukari eventually ended up with. Because i really hope it was Ryou
. Penguin Revolution is a great, but kinda short, read for all manga-lovers! ^___^

I really enjoyed this series. It's actually one of my favorites. The art is beautiful, in my opinion, and Yukari is cute, strong and smart. And, although there wasn't too much outright romance in it (a fact I really regret, since I would really want to see a relationship!), it did have it, and the story was really enjoyable to read. I liked all the characters, too. The crossdressing didn't seem to fit in perfectly, but it certainly made it more interesting. The ending was a bit abrupt, and you don't really get to see the developments in character that you would normally want, but I still loved the series. It's not as if the mangaka like, randomly killed off a bunch of characters, so it's not as if it was a bad ending. I really just wish for more, though!
So, in conclusion, I really, really, really liked this series. I had to think a bit for the negative, but if it was just the level of my enjoyment while reading the series, I would've given it a 10!

I love this manga so much and it's one of my favourites...
I even wanted it to have more chapters BUT the ending was rushed (i think)
BUT again for me it has a great story plot, bishie (especially the guy with black hair) , and it's worth a read. I think i'll rate it 9.5/10 (^_^)

It was entertaining, but the scenes were rather detached from one another. THere wasn't a big overarching plot; it seemed almost episodic, but each episode was on a larger and larger scale. It started off really good, but fell apart a lot toward the end, and I was a bit disappointed. I would have preferred a more character based growth, with more development with the romance and Ryu's personal wing-growing, rather than having him just sort of jump from useless to superstar. Toward the end, it seemed that Yuko Ota became more of the main character.

I enjoyed this series quite a bit, and found it very hard to put down. The characters were likable and cute, and I haven't read a series with this kind of story, so I found it a refreshing change from regular school life.
That said, I found the plot to be somewhat disconnected. A conflict occurs and is abruptly resolved in a confusing way, and then a new conflict pops up. Tsukuba doesn't leave the reader a lot of time to digest what just happened, and doesn't develop the secondary characters as much as I'd like. Instead, they appear and then disappear after their arc, referenced a couple times afterwards but that's about it. The only exception to this is Narazaki, and I felt his arc was one that developed the best because it flowed nicely into the next arc instead of abruptly ending like the others.
I also didn't understand how crossdressing enhanced the plot, and the concept seemed kind of forced into the story.
I felt the ending was very... disjointed. When it seemed like the story was becoming more dramatic (aka introduction of a new love interest), it ended! And in the ending, we don't get to see the resolution we normally would. I was pretty disappointed that so many loose ends weren't tied up.
But all in all, despite these few shortcomings, I did enjoy the series. It wasn't incredibly thought-provoking or deep, but it was cute, and that's just what I need. :]
