Description
From CMX: High school student Yukari Fujimaru knows a potential star when she sees one…because she sees the special "aura" they give off, in the form of angelic wings. Yukari's fellow student, the beautiful Ryoko Katsuragi, has a small pair of wings herself, and is one of these aspiring talents. She's so talented, in fact, that no one even knows that "she" is actually a boy in disguise. Now, to make her own down-to-earth dream come true, Yukari must help her new friend become a star.
funny + entertaining + great heroine + beautiful art + amazing plot how much better could it get? the movements look really natural and the story deals with a lot of stars so there's alot of bishounens ^_^
At first the name turned me off, but i decided to read it and it was amazing. The characters just drew me in and the plot was great. The characters aren't annoying either and its pretty funny. great art also.
i really love this manga. i picked volume 1 off from the library and i fall in love with it at first sight. this will be the best manga made by tsukuba sakura sensei!
The main character was created very well. Not the typical weak shoujo character, but a strong and smart protagonist for a change. The art is also very pleasant. This is a recommendation to those sick of (or just simply dislike) weak female shoujo characters...and those who enjoy manga in general.
This manga is really good! The story is so cute and the characters are really beautifully drawn. The wings are super cute too! I really love the drawing style of tsukuba sensei! I've loved her mekakushi no kuni, penguin kakumei and yoroshiku master. I like the way she makes the story light hearted and easy to understand. A must read manga, in my opinion.
A very good manga, and it gets better as it progresses. Very good art as well, the bodies look really good, and proportioned. (the topless shots of the guys, especialy ayaori and ryou were priceless^^).
The characters are so well done, that it shocks me sometimes(in the pleasent way^^).
Yukari- so cute. I love the fact she's not some stupid shoujo who can't deffend herself. She can, and she's stronger than most guys there *~.^* She's been throug rough times (comical as they were), and remains positive. I like this character (like touru honda^). And the times she drooles over wings- a keeper lol. Ryo- a cute guy. Not much to say about him, except him being really kind and hardworking. (and he makes a great girl lol). and I really like Ayaori. His character makes me laough, how he acts in his dayly life, compared to when he's acting. The hot bud, that gets exposure in some after shower scense.
I'm suprised at myself^^ I usually don't react to cute guys in manga like that. (guess they are special lol).
A commenter said there was no point and no plot in Yukari helping Ryo. This is kind of the point.. this is the plot.. and she helps because she's his friend and she needs money to pay for school...
I love the art. The plot was moving; interesting, and not overly cliche. However, I have a really big problem with the ending. It is too open ended for my liking. It didn't tie up anything on the relationship level, which I think is really important to address, especially when they used it as a plot element towards the end of the series. Everything else was tied up, except for that, which was what I was looking forward to. Otherwise, a great series. A nice, cute, light read. Just, I would have preferred a more concrete ending.
It's simply superb! Tsukuba Sakura RAWKS! This is DEFINITELY the manga to read if you're bored out of your mind with all those cliche shoujos. I thought it would be like W Juliet too so I didn't pick it up for awhile but I am so glad I read it. I think the way the feelings of the two main characters develop was done really well... It kind of blossomed slowly while no one was looking... they're so sweet together! The only bad thing is that the female protagonist's personality is almost the same as that of the girl in Land of The Blindfolded... I guess the author likes this kind of girls...?
I'm only on chapter 9, but I feel like every chapter brings some tears to my eyes. Not that I'm crying, but you know, where you're so moved to the point that your eyes start to slightly water up. Tsukuba Sakura always knows how to choose the perfect words. I love the innocence of the storyline, as it's much more subtle, but the words are so heartwarming. I'll edit this later once I get through more chapters. :]
at first i thought this would be alot like W juilet all cross dressing comedy and hiding true genders with no real plot, boy was i wrong! it's great! i love that the main charaters not the steriotypical brainless dependant princess in a tower type.
