U all noticed how there is a big difference in the art styles of shounen and shoujo manga. basically, im looking for a shoujo manga with mdern shounen style art since i think it looks better. The shoujo can be any genre as long as there is no yaoi, yuri, or tragic endings. Also, no typical shoujo guys either, u know the ones that are full of themselves and do things like say, "you belong to me" or stuff like that. Thanks

Quote from Hermit-chan

works by Yuki kaori, Midorikawa Yuki and Yoshihara Yuki

I second Kanno Aya

But they are still not shounen styles. I don't think any shounen artist would draw like Yuki Kaori. They are just unique in the same way as MINEKURA Kazuya's style, Naked Ape's, Katayama Shuu's, and Kamui.

I think the "typical shoujo" style many people are talking about is like that of Faster than A Kiss, NG Life or Vampire Knight?

You could try Dazzle, Tactics, Choushinri Genshou Nouryokusha Nanaki and Akkan Baby. I second Midorikawa Yuki's works. You could also try Dawn - Tsumetai Te but I don't know whether there will be a tragic ending.

I am not sure whether you will like TAKAYAMA Shinobu's style. I don't think most shounen will look like that though it's not "typical shoujo" (still shoujo to me).

TOTALLY SECONDING Meteor Methuselah (A.K.A Immortal Rain) and Midorikawa Yuki's works. Both have interesting art (that is not littered with shoujo sparkles and effeminate, inhumanly gorgeous men) as well as wonderful and compelling stories. Neither have the typical shoujo boy types. both Midorikawa Yuki and Kaori Ozaki (the author of Immortal Rain) write stories about strong heroines and well-developed characters, where the romance is a little bit more realistic and less idealistic, toned-down, but still touching.

Another series, which is mostly shounen but has an absolutely stunning romance that plays a part in it is Chrno Crusade.
