Hi, I need recommendations for some really good yaoi where the characters have 'character', empathy, love, anger and compassion rather than just having testerone-driven males with incredibly high sex drives, overly feminine males, and stupid plotlines like uke falls in love with rapists, 'learning to enjoy sex'..wanting to make out with some hot sensei, cute tsundere guys, neighbors or co-workers and animalmorphisms.

I'm a big fan of the works by Asou Kai, Yamakami Riyu, Kunieda Saika and Yumeka Sumomo

My most fav Yaoi titles are:
Slice of life -- Sorenari ni Shinken nandesu --best yaoi ever.
Comedy yaoi like..50 x 50, Lovers Doll, May Miracle, Yome ni Konai ka
Psychological yaoi like Bannin, Cut and Sono Kuchibiru ni Yoru no Tsuyu Shounen Zanzou
Dramas -- The Carp on the Chopping Block Jumps Twice
Sweet romance -- Aisaretaino, Arashi no Ato

Here's some of the BL/GL mangas on my reading list. [I've read lots of yaoi, but the titles in this list are only meant for the yaoi that I actually enjoy reading]

I honestly haven't read much BL... but I did enjoy Kuma to Interi
(in general, I like ONO Natsume's works)...

Hmm, there are few titles which you may like:
- Tsuki to Sandal - nice comedy with a bit of slice of life. I love the second couple
- also check Gerard to Jacques by the same artist. Drama, comedy, slice of life, historical.
Actually all Yoshinaga Fumi's works are worth reading so give them all a go
- Darenimo Aisarenai - comedy, drama and a clash of opposite personalities. I also recommend the artist.

I've already read the works by Ono Natsume and Yoshinaga Fumi, they're quite good but not memorable for me. I guess I'm not into yaoi that's too realistic, sometimes it reminds me of those dull josei mangas. I guess that's just my personal preferences.

I quite like some of the works by Miyamoto Kano, and Koujitsusei no Tobira has some of the elements that I like but the plot's just too confusing at some point. The art's nice though. Thank you for suggesting mangas that fit the criteria, they are non-cliche but I've already read most of your recommendations

Yeah, but it probably is what makes the manga memorable
Demian Syndrome is one of the best yaoi manga for me, and it should be to your taste, so give it a try

I must say I like your taste, the most of the manga you`ve mentioned are among my favourites too
Well, maybe you should check out YAMASHITA Tomoko, YONEDA Kou, MIYAMOTO Kano works, Rush! by YUKIMURA.
