You know what I mean, right? Most of these so-called 'love triangles' are actually pretty ordinary affairs with a romantic rival who just doesn't know when to give up.
A loves B, B loves A...and C, for some inexplicable reason, seems to think s/he has a chance with A (or B), and...well...we all know how it plays out from there onwards

Well, I dislike that kind of thing. So I'd like to ask for a novel, manga, movie or anime (no TV series, please!) with an actual love polygon. As in;

A --> B --> C --> A (A loves B, who's in love with C, who in turn loves A)

The number of people involved has to be three or more, of course. And they really, genuinely, have to be romantically interested in each other in the way I've indicated. Please no 'shocking revelations' such as a 'C' type character who eventually goes "I thought I loved A, but it's really B I wanted all along!" <_<

As for the conclusion, it can be;
1. One (or all) of them finding someone outside of their polygon to love

2.The polygon remaining unresolved (I'd really prefer this option, but I guess it's a bit too much to hope for!)

3. A & B realizing that things are hopeless and deciding to get together despite B still holding a torch for C, and C bowing out and going off to find him/herself someone else, while still being in love with A.

...or any other suitable way. But the polygon should not turn back into an ordinary one at any point!
Cantarella is a perfect example for a story that at first glance looks like it'll fit my request (as in Cesare --> Chiaro --> Lucrezia --> Cesare), but which eventually falls back into the typical triangle mode when
Cardcaptor Sakura also follows that path.


Also, I am NOT looking for harem or reverse harem manga! In fact, the very concept of a harem completely contradicts my request.
Any other genre except hentai, smut, ecchi, yaoi, shota/lolicon is welcome (shounen-ai, shoujo-ai and yuri are fine)
Gender-bender is acceptable only if the people involved are well aware of each other's genders before they fall in love (So please don't rec those "OMG! I thought I was gay but I'm sooo glad I'm not!" manga)

This is a really interesting idea. Pity I can't think of a single thing that suits your requirements (but that might just be because I don't read a lot of romance manga)

The only manga I can think of atm is They, Too, Love but the focus of it is not so much the love polygon but rather their lives as incredibly individual, quirky people. It's an excellent read nonetheless, even if the ending is a bit wanting.

The main character loves his stepbrother and is being pursued by a photographer guy. His stepbrother is being pursued by a girl but is in love with another girl, who in turn likes someone else. This photographer guy is being pursued by this shota trap, for whom he has no feelings. Then all of a sudden the photographer isn't really into the main character any more, and like, totally isn't gay, why would you even think that, even though the main character is after him now. And then a woman from his past resurfaces, and they still have feelings for each other, even though she's married. And then... well, the main character and the photographer have lovely sparkle relations and it leaves marks and whatever but then

I don't know if that fits your criteria or not but it sure did take enough time to type out.

First: A loves B who loves C who doesn't love B
Then: A loves B and B loves A but shit goes down, and that gets screwed up so
then: B loves A and C loves B but A doesn't love B
then: A loves B who again loves C

et cetera et cetera. It's really convoluted, but if you're looking for a real love triangle where the protagonist is in love with both people at some point, look no further.

A loves B who loves C who loves/loved D (not so much this one though)

A loves B and B loves C so
A loves D and D is an asshole so

Meanwhile:
F loves D and D loves F but probably only as a friend or sister so
F loves G who also loves F
F loved H but H loves J who also loves H and is best friends with A
Oh, also K loves J and J might love K

Anyway, there's no easy answer for any of them when it comes to their love issues . . .

A and C are girls, B's a guy
A loves B who loves C
B gets turned into a girl
C loves B, who doesn't know what to think
A thinks she loves B, but she's also confused

This one is kind of bizarre
