hmmm about time i would say. though it would be reaaaaally bad it things ended the way it is now. but I'm not sure if it will end in a satisfying ending in just 11 chapters....

I havent read it but i tried cleaning a raw of it once, and it didn't look like it was ready to end. anyone have a good generalization to make about where the plot is in terms of a good ending.

UberZombie, I think I live like... 5 miles from you :-o

to at least say something on topic though... i watched all of the POT anime.. and can't understand why i did... something about the crazy guitar shredding during matches just didn't fit... not too sad it's ending.

Hey... I'm the guy that does the scanlation like every week. Anyway, 11 chapters isn't enough to finish the series. These matches usually get to singles one and they're still in doubles 2. So that means a little more than 3 matches still have to be played. I don't see how he can do that unless he like somehow switches the serialization to another magazine or something. (I don't know if that's possible or allowed).

it has happened before...

The matches might end if "someone" died now wouldn't they?

It's a good example of the fact that it is to finish PoT in 11 chapters, it'll be another chapter for doubles 2, 2 chaps for singles 2, 2 chaps for double 2 and 4 chaps for singles 1, another 2 chaps to conclude the series.

WATconfused I NEVER EVEN STARTED READING IT!!! are they just gonna end it in the middle or are they gonna put an ending?

Well, it's the final game of the national tournament, THE objective since the beginning. Still 3 matches to go, but it usually takes more than 11 chapters for that.

Awesome.
Another Slamdunk shittastic ending.

Good thing I've never REALLY been a fan of PoT.

Nooo! I wasn't expecting it to end this fast. I hope it doesn't have a bad ending.

its gonna be sucks if the it will be end within just 11 chapters

thread

» TheClumsyPotato on September 16th, 2007, 4:06pm

^^; Wouldn't it be more likely that he would just continue it in tankouban form, though? Slower releases would suck, though. =/ I don't think it's actually going to end, though.

Alot of people mention that eleven chapters isn't enough to do this in, and thats most likely true.

However, there's always a chance they do double chapters, which multiplies the total count of remaining chapters to 22. It becomes possible then. Thats my theory, anyways.

Wouldn't 11 chapters be enough if Seigaku lost the at the Nationals?

thread

» kumquat on September 18th, 2007, 4:18pm

but then the series would be too open-ended and it's opening way for a whole 'nother try at the nationals

There could always be a Prince of Tennis 2. After all, Echizen is only a 1st year. It would be a real bummer, but it would make some realistic sense.

And why ? Is there an official statemant or something ?

thread

» toanenadiz on September 18th, 2007, 6:25am

There's no official statement but people have been assuming that all five finals matches will be played. If the next few chapters showcased Seigaku losing Doubles 2 and Singles 2, there will a few chapters left the give it an ending albeit a rushed one.

Right now it looks like they've lost D2, so they have to win the next 3. Which brings up the question who is play S2 ... Fuji vs ?
