Regardless how fluffy and cute the main characters are, and how the tension between the side couple is amazing… honestly I was having a headache while reading this! I somewhat get it but most of the time, I’m confused. Maybe because of the translations or the complexity of the story, Haejin-sensei didn’t tell the story really good based on what I’ve read. BUT the characters are well loved and amazing, especially their fluff moments. A good read, not just my cup of tea!

Are the best thing about this work, they deserve their own story bcz they are the reason I read it till the end.
The tension, the chemistry, understanding, dialogue and both are smart, it's so pleasing to read their conversation.

The main couple is annoying and boring af especially that annoying mf uke author suddenly gives him some super power to make his dumb annoying azz look useful 😩

Vampire story that involves a TINY bit of politics and power dynamics more so (e.g. kin half-vampire management and vampire vs kin/humans in regards to power dynamics ).

The good:

• -Art!! (they improve, trust)
• -The main couple but especially the side couple.
• -Strong male leads (both uke's)
• -A good combination of subtext smut and dialogue

I love it although it's frustrating at times how they communicate (or lack communication) with each other.

Not sure why I dropped it years ago around the 30 chapters mark but it's one of those drops that make me think wtf was I thinking this is great.

The cons:

• -A bit confusing at times...the dialogue more so. ..some things are confusing at times...that make you go huh? Wait what are they trying to say? (But the story is enjoyable to read either way, espcially how the side couple progresses.)
• -Maybe how the Main Problem of vampire MC was resolved? (Related to his father)
• -I kept forgetting what certain words meant (*slight spoiler* such as assimilation, domination etc).
• -The younger me back then probably thought it was slow paced and too much text.

I think Eternal Covenant is more digestible and easier to understand. It really includes better worldbuilding etc.
Another one I can compare Sweet Man with is Blood Link : Blood Link is also a vampire focused webtoon but does not involve heavy dialogue. It gave straightforward information about vampires and introduced what certain vampire related terms meant. Was easily digestible with smut scenes,

It started off really good but I feel like the plot became muddled and I couldn't understand what was happening. I agree with kunia343 that perhaps the translation may have played a part in my confusion.

However, even during my confusion with the main characters the writers storyline helped me want to finish the story

The premise was very interesting at first but then the plot started getting all over the place. I don't know if it's because of the translation but from about the time when the father steps in, the dialogues don't seem to flow well and a lot of times I've found myself being confused at where the story is going.

Sometimes it also got me wondering like how did our ordinary uke suddenly become a seemingly good tactician. I think I'll only continue reading just to know the ending.

I don't rate many things 10 stars, but this was absolutely incredible. The plot gets a bit complex (I think this is where a lot of the lower ratings come from), but I found it to be intricately and expertly woven. It's not just a romance but also delves into vampire family politics and is quite a robust story with strong characters and great art. It's definitely one I look forward to rereading many times.
