Awfully good considering that it's based on a series of nearly plotless video games. Somewhat predictable, but achieves some genuine emotional content.
SnoopyCool's translation is somewhat difficult to read, though. They didn't make the effort to change the diction so it sounded natural in English. Plus, many terms are inexplicably in quotes, which again comes off as very unnatural.

The Metroid series of video games was one of my favorites back in the NES and SNES days. As such, I was happy to see a Metroid manga revealing Samus' backstory. I was even happier to find that the manga was rather enjoyable. It's far from perfect. It doesn't manage to be more than what you'd expect from a video game tie-in manga. It does remain an interesting read throughout.
Samus is an engaging, likable character. She's captured well here, showing some character, which is nice for a character who often plays a silent part in the video games. The art is perfectly acceptable. The monsters and aliens like Ridley are always drawn well and Samus herself is nice to look at. Because the manga isn't in the business of recounting the video games themselves, it tells an incomplete story, which may annoy some.
Overall, as manga go, there is far better stuff out there. If you're a Metroid fan though, it's a must read.
