To be honest, I'm not sure what to do with this one.

Sensen Spike Hills reminds me a lot of Welcome to the NHK!. Not just in the way that it critiques Japanese society, but the fact that I have a lot of difficulty grading it.
On the one hand, it has a little depth. It's willing to stand up to society wjth a critical eye, and work with a protagonist that lives outside of its bounds. It has some (albeit occasionally teenage angst-ridden) strong characters with defined world views. It's original and inherently interesting.
On the other hand, we have bland art, needless fanservice, and a total pacing mess that often seems like the author has no idea how to properly build up suspense. What particularly perturbs me is that the author seems to have issues with characters taking actions- whenever they do, we more often see the result than the action itself. Normally this is fine, but it often causes some erratic storytelling that makes understanding the characters a bit more difficult.
In the end, I have to say that this is entertaining. I'm not sure if it's capable of being something more than just that, but it's both enjoyable and worth the read if you have the time. Just don't put off anything to do so.

I am totally into this series! But it's too bad that no one is scanlating. I really hope someone picks this up, the first 6 chapters are very interesting. I will keep my eye on this till then.
