I rather this not have an ending that someone got together in the end. I rather want this to have the ending just moves on in the future and never got back together with the ex. But I kind of why the author ended it with like that because of the legend of the tree.
Oh well it says that realistic so its its okay.

The oneshots are awesome

I feel like the first story could have been sweet, interesting and about change and how to get over a breakup.. It wasn't at all and in the end the story felt cheap and very unfair to each character. No one learned shit and with such pretty art it felt like a waste of an interesting story.
But the oneshots are really nice and interesting stories, all with a bittersweet feeling to them. Really enjoyable!

1st and last story...

I actually like Kite more than that selfish and insensitive guy. I cried when the uke cannot see him anymore. The rest of the story is good (komatsu sex is hot).
Except the last one, I just cant see the depth of their love, not just the main couple, the ex too. They brushed their love off so easily, and sex is nothing to them. Bisexual characters are not really appealing to me in yaoi, and all of them are bi.

Yes, this manga is slightly different from the rest. Only character that irked me was the ex. He succumbs easily to social pressure, but I guess humans do make mistakes and he's not that bad a character. Ending was really something not expected, especially for the BL genre. Liked how considerate the uke acted for his fairy lover. It's a not bad manga.

Pretty Good

I wasn't expecting much from this one but I surprisingly enjoyed myself. I didn't like the art particularly much, it wasn't bad but everybody had the same childishly-thin body shape. From the character design, I found it hard to believe that some of these characters were 30 years old. All the characters looked the same age...

Main story (ch1-3): This one was melancholic and slightly dark. I enjoyed it and it was not cliched-predicable at all. I saw the whole fairy thing as a metaphor; the ex accepting his homosexuality and the lead dealing with his depression.

Second story (ch4): This is just snippet of the life of an established gay couple. Though it was only touched on briefly, I really liked the commentary on the state of women's and gay social issues in Japan. I also liked the mature, domestic relationship the two characters had with each other. It was very refreshing to see such interactions portrayed so realistically in yaoi.

Third story (ch5): A very sweet and sexy oneshot. The kotatsu sex was very hot! This was very light-hearted and cute.

Fourth story (ch6): This one was bit less developed than the other stories. I had to make a few assumptions in order for it to flow well for me. But it was still good and a bit more emotionally complex than other yaois.

Overall: The stories were exceptionally well thought out, even if the art was a bit lacking. I highly recommend it to those of you who want a slightly different approach to yaoi.

Well, it actually surprised me the first story with who got with the other. I was really expecting the tree guy to win but then the ex won which was surprising to say the most. I was quiet glad with the way it turned out and that the fairies end wasn't so sad. I sypathised with the ex's feelings and understood his wavelength and glad the way things were with him because the things he was saying was true about society etc and so this story was not shallow and had some depth to it which contrasts with the simplistic and clean art style and therefore feel satisfied.

Reminds me what kind of decisions gay couples have to face, and why...
I wish the mangaka had expanded more on each story. Other than the first one, although they are together, i fear for what else they may face in the future. :chant: It's just fiction, it's just fiction...:chant:

Leaves me wanting more...

At first when I glanced at this story, the art seemed a little different than what I was used to, but I decided to give it a try anyway...only to find out that each story is so sweet, painful and real that I end up wanting to read more about it.

I disagree with mangafan321 that the last story is gross. I feel like it beautifully portrays the situation of two people having moved on with their lives, and in the end,

Spoiler (highlight to view)
the uke ends up with someone who's loved him for years, so how is that too bad for him? It's clear that all those women were just substitutes for him.

All-in-all, I liked all four stories (even though the first one left me feeling cold), and I feel like its focus on how people badly want to fit in (especially in the Japanese culture) doesn't seem as cliché as it usually seem in other BL manga.

ch 6 was kind of gross, i felt sorry for the uke, i can tell he still loves his ex, and he is stuck with that jerk that was messing with him from the beginning. he even has sex with him after he had just been with another woman. too bad the uke couldnt find someone that would want him and only him...
