Description
[From Obsession]:

Here is a war going on between the West Tokyo and the East Tokyo. Both sides have "puppets" who can read other people's minds through touch. Every "keyword" is given by two people. It doesn't work unless there is contact between their bodies. The first one to find out the keyword wins, the other dies.

Why its not popular

I didnt read that much but from what I saw, it started out complicated and did not explain a lot of things.

It, however, did explain a lot on the scifi part which was not what I was interested in. I dont think it was well written in its story development. They introduced the characters too late, after they gave me all this scifi technical stuff to read. A well written story flows better, that is, they introduce the character, then the setting, then the problem and so on. A story that gets me invested in the character and interested in the plot. This one skipped through all of that, which made it hard to read, plus it made me read all this jargon that I had no invested interest in. Thus I dropped it after a few minutes (after one chapter).

Like astroasis, I felt the same way about this story. There's something worthy in this manga, but because it's not entirely understandable, I fail to really recognize it. As a result, it doesn't go onto my "good" list, but I still like it. I still like Cornered Mouse better, in terms of other yaoi works by this author, but this work wasn't too bad. There's something really fascinating about this story and no matter how many times I reread it, I don't think I'll ever get the whole story. But I think in this case that might be one of the selling points of this manga: its dreamlike and nothing is really very certain.

A Good Story

Let's get the negatives out of the way first: The artwork isn't good. It's hard to tell some characters apart. The story is a little confusing and doesn't give the reader enough background to fully understand what's going on before it's over.

Now the good thing about this manga... The story is really pretty solid. Once you figure out what's going on and actually understand it, it's quite a beautiful and touching story. This is one of those rare manga titles that isn't GOOD, per se... but contains a story worth knowing.

This was sad and beautiful. Though I have to agree that the first part of the manga can be pretty confusing, don't let that get you, and keep going! It definitely worth it, this unique and heartbreakingly wonderful love story. In my opinion, the ending was just great and fulfilling - something like in 1999 Shanghai (same author).

And though I know that most people don't like Mizushiro-sensei's earlier artwork (like in this one) I have to say I actually love it. biggrin Not in the same way as I love her present style (like ASN or The Cornered Mouse), but this has such a gentle touch to it that it just adds something more to the story.
(Bad point: it's hard to tell some characters apart since the only thing that differs is the parting of their hair :S)

So everyone, I strongly recommend it.

A little confusing, but the story still gets across after a reread. Though the story is about androids and whether or not they have feelings, it's rather unique It's sad but sweet and very emotional like most of sensei's mangas.

The underlying premise was interesting, but it was unclear in a few areas. Not really sure though if this is from the translation or the actual manga itself.

I didn't realy understand what was happening until I read the summary here. It's pretty weird, but not entirely bad... You might be one of those who like this kind of story.
