i just read this manga and i think that its great!!! asuna and negi really look good together but so do all the others.... the battles are heartracing and so are the pactios!! i really recommend this manga to EVERYONE
I hope negi got infinite harem. He should. I give it 10 because this mangaka is one of my favorite and good story harem and I hope it end like negi got all the girls to be his wife. If not, I will drop it 😀
Start like any generic harem series but in actuality thing have been laid on carefully from the start (except the characters design) culminating in truly grand setting for the world, its history and subsequently the plot, the kind of planning that mindless manga like Bleach could only dream of.
Still with all the seriousness it retain all the charming atmosphere of Akamatsu's style, truly enjoyable read.
I admit, the first reason why I started reading this was for the ecchi and humour ala Love Hina. But then as the plot progressed I noticed how it changed from a harem series to one hell of a kickass action storyline while still retaining the humour and fanservice. This series has been with me since my highschool years and now into my university days. A truly great series.
EDIT: And so it ends...very disappointed in the ending. Nothing feels truly resolved and a major plot point is concluded without any of it being in the manga! It was just one moment its a huge mystery and the next it's all done! We never know who Negi ends up with, interesting characters with huge storytelling potential wasted and some of them just disappear never to be mentioned even in the epilogue! Everything is just one hell of a crazy disappointment. This series, great as it was during the journey ended with a bitter taste.
this series is excellent and i recommend it to anyone. but just know that it is prity much love hina with fights, and the main guy isn't an idiot. the comparison between them is so crazy, that i think the author probably used the same sketches and made them all 14 🙂 never the less, this is an amazing manga and everybody should read it (and read love hina too if you haven't already)
i rly hate it when i finish/catch up with a good series...and this is one of em. As everyone has said, this one has it all, be it comedy, drama, romance (well, as far as a 10 year old can go with that 😛 ), action, ecchi etc etc. May not have the strongest of starts, but it exhibits great development, and the reader will soon find himself craving for more...Also, whilst it is true that the basic plot might not be that original, the character development of each individual, and the amount of characters at that, always give it a "fresh" feeling. I already miss those guys....
-.- I now have to add this to the other 1000 to the nth power series's whose weekly releases i must wait for each (you guessed it) week....but this waiting for this one will hurt >.<
P.S. Yeah, some characters resemble those from Love Hina, especially at the beginning, but, as you get further into the story, they will become their own personalities 🙂
I love this manga but with the new Tokyo Censorship bill that just passed I can see this series coming to an end real soon. This manga has been going on for so long I just hope that if it is forced to end that they give it an ending worthy of its greatness.
It'd be nice if for once an action manga would have at least somewhat realistic action... I don't mean the magic part, but the part where they claim asuna is learning kendo, and she isn't doing anything that looks like kendo (she wasn't even holding her fan-thingy right, and setsuna wasn't either), or where they take "combat" stances and they are in a horrrrrrible stance to fight in... D:! It's disappointing... But its a manga, so whatever.
there was a time this sucked then became godlike and now. . .I think ken is now rushing it. . too much new info. . mind is over loading!!!! from zero to super dark hero. . negi's dark form is like a mix of ichigo's hollow form and naruto's kyubi form. . ken should have waited for negi to grow up before he overpowered him. . its now becoming a typical shonen. . and i don't like that. minus 2 points for cliche super power upgrade and minus 1 point for rushing the story. . i'm not happy about this but its the truth. . =c
This manga is the very definition of your typical shonen. The story is driven by formulaic battles, and there's plenty of training to grow stronger. There's a lot of ecchi stuff, so expect lots of panties; however, there isn't any mature content.
The artwork isn't that special; it primarily suffers from a lack of style. I didn't like the artwork very much, since most of the characters are draw kind of stiff-looking. However, the characters are fairly distinguishable. At the very least, the mangaka doesn't rely entirely on hair to give his many characters their unique appearances. Besides that, nothing looks good, but on the plus side, nothing looks particularly bad either.
This manga is an excellent time-killer. Given the massive cast of characters, I'm impressed at how much character development nearly everyone got. But make no mistake, this is your typical shonen.
