I only gave it an 8 as its an amazing series, but some of the ecchi just doesn't work for me. If this had been a pure fantasy series (if the same age of the characters was kept) or if the ages of the characters had been raised then then I would have scored it higher. Its still an amazing series, with great comedy scenes, and some truly impressive battles.
probably many argue, Negima has a lot of character, and it's confusing. But, that's the interesting part of Negima. 3-A All students have different properties, and it's trying to show of the problems they face. That's what makes me like curious, what will happen to the girls then? or, in fact how her feelings are real? . It's very interesting and sometimes surprise us. things that I get from reading the Negima is STUBBORN, not to give in any case. And there is one very important thing! Ken Akamatsu CANT DRAWING UGLY PEOPLE? ,BECAUSE THE GIRLS THAT LOOKS VERY CUTE,hahaha
I was full of heart with Negi for the first 10 volumes and continued to look forward to the day the series ends for a few years without reading any further new chapters because I thought it would be more awesome to read marathon like in a day.
But, whenever I checked it out in the past. I always saw so many new characters. Not only the panels inside the mange were full which seemed like they would break any second but the squeezing of the characters faced similar problem too.
Recently, by chance, I found out that it has completed and checked it out for a bit. Man... I just didn't want to read it anymore. Not because of the review but because of the poor developments that matched nothing of my expectations the first time I read it.
By the way, I loved the phrase of AquarianDemocrat: "the greatest let down in manga history" hahahahahahah <<< this should have been included by Mr. Ken himself!
I started it. Loved it. Then dropped it. Not worth it to finish up is what my guts told me. And I did listen.
great manga, fun to read and hope it answers all questions and concludes properly. id like to see more into this manga, great work once again. Thanks for author for making awesome manga.
awesome series, i really like the style of the artist. there is a bit of ecchi, but it's really nothing compared to some series. combines a fun main story with a surprisingly deep back story. all in all, one of my favorites.
I was extremely skepitcal about reading this at first based off the brief explantion of it given on the site that i read it on. Once i got in a few chapters i couldnt stop, i only picked it for the first time a few weeks ago but i read from chapter 1 to 217 in 2 days, i just couldnt stop reading. The story definately draws you in the more you read. So don't be scared off by a 10 year old with his own harem, you will just miss out.
Well since it's his current work, I'd like to say that I do enjoy reading this although some elements like in Love Hina were brought back again into Negima (which I didn't mind at all but doesn't add too much to the originality of the story)
Later when you read the manga, the story is really dragging and only now are they re-introducing some lost characters that you haven't seen in like 10 volumes ago.
Sure there's flashy fights, cool moves, fanservice chapters and all that, the story is not flowing normally as it should but more in this case is somewhat repetitive. Unless you like continuous manga that likes to drag it out, those who find who want an end to a certain arc or end a certain problem will find that this manga isn't interesting to them.
Other than that, the artwork is really well done when I compare it to Love Hina, and the designs are more interesting, but other than that, I can't say it's the best nor the worst. I'll say it's better than average.
this manga sucks. It's annoying i dont know how it can go on for so long!
The only reason i even decided to pick it up was cause the arts okay
This manga is really interesting ^^ boils my childhood magic dreams =P
anyways this manga has pretty good development for story line. Although it may be very long and slow going but i like to think of it as a slow build up to a erruption to something big ^_~
Characters are pretty well introduced but i sometimes see there isn't any development most of the characters. meaning not much past stories or current happenings shown. However, i suppose this is hard to do since its pretty much the whole class being introduced one by one into the manga. And also that it would just make endless boring fillers.
Art work is interesting ^^ i kinda like it since i did like love hina's later art's and stuff.
The manga has a bit of good comedy sometimes and does include fan service for the guys with the usual upskirt shots or whatever.
So far its getting alot more interesting and is slowly getting more attention from me haha xD however i still find it really long with long fillers and everything ><
8 because it is pretty long and boring sometimes.
edit: forgot to mention the anime is really bad. as usual... but i heard they're remaking negima =) since it has so much more potential than the current anime released.
looking back at previous ken akamatsu works, i'm feeling that this series got a lot improvement; better drawings, wide character, and decent story. but, i kind of upset since the ecchi (or fanservice, everyone says) still to much, or at least, has no relationship with the story itself. if i may criticize this works, i believe akamatsu need some research to have his story logical.
