It says that the male lead is a harem seeking lead character. But bell isn’t like that looking for a harem. He only wants the girl that saved him and has trained him.

Much better than expected

This is surprisingly good. From the title I thought I was going to read a generic harem series, but it turned out to be a surprising hidden gem.

The characters are well written, sometimes touching, sometimes funny, great chemistry between the cast. The story itself is like an RPG, but it has such good detail that it feels like you're part of the action. No plotholes to think of, no annoying indecisive MC, just a great entertaining story all around.

Also I've read both the Yen Press version of this and the fan translated version, and if I were to compare, the Yen Press version is a lot better done. Much better flow and better naming sense. So if you get the chance, you should buy a copy of the yen press version, it brings out the story better than the old fan translation and makes it more enjoyable.

It's actually a pretty well written light novel, but I just don't really like the MC. I mean he's not bad or anything, but he's a bit too much of a stereotypical harem mc. Another thing that I don't like about him is that whenever he helps someone he says it's because they're a girl. I mean I know I shouldn't hate him on that, but it just makes it seem like all of the female characters are weak and need him to rely on.

But enough of my ranting, the story is actually pretty good and flows nicely. The other characters are somewhat interesting, although honestly the only who seems the most interesting is Freya and the blacksmith

Licenced killed the series

Due to the DCMA takedown and C&D letters 5-6 months prior to publishing their first novel its going to be at least 11 more months before anyone can read this in English. Better start studying up on your Japanese if you want to read this anytime soon.

Enjoyable

I'm really glad I picked this up. It's a really enjoyable read because the main character doesn't have an abstract goal, but a set one. To stand by the person he admires. It's really cute, in a cheesy way. At first I was hesitant, because he starts off really weak compared to most other stories that I enjoy; however, this story makes up for it with charm. Bell is really adorable. He's hard working, and is motivated by something really human, love. I know it's cliche, especially in most stories, but DanMachi gives it a twist, but actually giving this love a label, and that comes in the form of a Skill, that literally gives him a boost in experience, when he's thinking about someone he loves. As of right now, I'm on Vol. 5, and reading as releases come out. I hope anyone who is thinking about picking this up, does.

I enjoyed reading this LN, im now at volume 4 waiting for the translations =P
The story its really good. We got our protagonist that because of "LOVE POWER" practically gets a buff in experience so that he can catch up with his crush, then he become famous for achieving something in 1 and a half month when the previous record was a little more than 1 year. And get both positive and negative attention... The negative is something to reckon with =O(He might be eaten later, literally)
