"In this world, is there really such a thing as an awesome guy?"
Midori just started high school and isn't interested in guys. She thinks they're all like her brother, Takeshi, who is rude and spoiled. Her way of thinking changes when a classmate of hers is pulled into the street dancing team led by Takeshi and his best friend, Sutou.
At first glance Higa may seem like a plain and quiet guy--but when the music starts flowing and his body starts moving--he transforms into a completely different person... Even Midori can't keep her eyes off him.

I was kind of disappointed by this. I rather like this mangaka's drawings, and I enjoyed "Kiss" and "Beauty is the Beast", so I guess I expected more. Alas, Matsumoto didn't manage to bring those dance moves to life for me, and that is important to me since that is one of the main reasons why Higa captivates people (and Midori). The dance scenes resembled pretty shots from a photo shoot; there was no sense of movement. You can't even tell what dance move was executed when sequences were involved.
Pace-wise, nope, didn't think it was fast. But this might have turned out better if she had drawn it out to two volumes, or at least delved deeper into why the two main characters were attracted to each other. Give us a little something more, y'know? And like Bikuki said, the story was only so-so. Pity.
Also, because I looked at this page before reading "23:00", I ended up muttering, "Action? What action?" (referring to the genres) I didn't really detect much drama in this manga too. ._.

I liked this manga, it's diferent, though the art is not really of my liking, the lines a a bit fussy, and as someone said before the author didn't got express properly the feelings at the moment of dancing. Also i really got lost on the part when the male main character founds that girl, at first i thought it was the heroine, but then i realized it was other girl.
23:00 is a really wierd manga....quite slow...but it's pretty good,right? I don't like Matsutomo's manga much ( i hate "KISS" ) but this manga make me feel really good ( he he ^^)
i really like reading different mangas, and this happened to be one of them. but the storyline was only so-and-so
The plot is something I've never come upon before so a plus for that. But then Again I don't think the Mangaka got the feeling right when they were dancing. But read it and see for you self.
When I picked up this manga, I wasn't interested in the drawings, but it was the uniqueness of the plot and how that plot is expressed into pictures that really captured my eye. I can't wait for the next one to come out!
