10 Volumes = 49 Chapters (Complete)

Plot: Nothing to complain. Has the potential to be one of the best mangas in this field. Juvenile prison and zombies? This is really one-of-a-kind.
Drawing: Clean, neat, great style.
Character: Love the 4 main characters. It's the first time that I like everybody from a group. These guys know how to cooperate. Their different individual personalities make them look even cooler.
Other: The names of the chapters are based on songs of really good musicians/ bands, if you know a bit about music.
Conclusion: Read this manga now.
I can't say much without giving it away but this is my favorite zombie manga / anime ever and it's amazing , The characters are like able and realistic , the plot is good, the horror is amazing but not too scary , and there's a little twist READ NOW SERIOUSLY, YOU WON'T REGRET IT.its so addictive
This series is for anyone who likes zombies. It has a complex plot, good art, complex characters, and best of all it keeps you on the edge of your seat with every chapter. I highly recommend this series.
Don't listen to reviewer Xiximaro below me. This story's ending is completely scanlated. There's 45 chapters, an epilogue chapter (chapter 46), and then 3 extra side stories. All of which are translated and available in volume 10. Does this mean we get a complete fulfilling end with no loose plot points? Absolutely not. It has an amazing setup but with a very lackluster wrap up.
This manga is one of the few horror manga that I actually read considering I am such a punk and scared of things like this. But for some reason I find myself coming back and reading every chapter that comes and waiting for the next one. Also this manga doesn't have any female characters (only one recently introduced) and.... I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT !!!!!!!!!! Now I know that some people will probably dislike it but I am so happy because I loathe female characters in shounen mangas because , it seems they always have this stereotype they seem to conform to in things like this and I hate it some much. So considering it doesn't have one (the one it does have doesn't seem to be that important is not in it right now) I am really happy and hope they don't introduce none right now. Bit the main characters I love so much and they all are pretty likeable and kinda typical but not enough to be annoying. Also the art is really good and they way the author draws the infected people and how he comes up with new creatures created from the disease is plain amazing and creepy because they look so weird and scary. But like I said love this manga and is one of my favorite shounen manga.
Seriously, this just got me hook right from the start. The characters are all good. They were created in synch with the story and their actions. Most manga with a modern action setting where they are suddenly stuck in a situation where it's "Kill or be Killed", they just all of a sudden get this super natural strength thingy and manage to survive. But this manga doesn't have that. The three main characters' abilities were all developed (except Maeda) and has a base seeing as how they are in juvenile jail (Whatever that is) so people can't really wonder how they learned to fight or wield weapons. There is also that one thing where there is a brainiac on the group and all the smart words and actions come from him, In this manga, not all the smart ideas come from the brainiac.
Maeda, on the other hand, there are a lot of readers who says he's weak, a wimp, and all that but that ain't true at all. You'll realize that once you've read this great manga. He's actually doing great for someone who doesn't have any fighting ability as the other three characters and he's hanging in there. He's also got great spirit and one may call him the heart of the group, or something like that. If it were me, I would have been crying or shivering in a corner but Maeda only cried the first time he saw a zombie up close and it was understandable seeing as how he's about to get eaten and all that **it was just sinking in. Also his ability in being able to fight isn't overstated, unlike in some mangas. His shooting ability is average and he isn't showed as someone who could shoot the undeads right on the head immediately.
The plot is great. I find it awesome how there's a 'boss-like' zombie in there, having the ability to control zombies.
this manga scared my pants off, but also had me laughing and the weirdest moments.
Some of the zombies have the most derpy faces I have ever seen and I just can't--... ha ha ha ha. Even if you aren't here for the story, the horror, or the hot boys, at least check out this manga for the hidden troll faces on random zombies. Oh god it's deliciously disgusting. xD
(and reading this manga on Mangahere was great with the Tsukkonomi function--it just made everything 10 times better)
I'm a huge zombie fan but these zombies are beyond AWESOME!
They are ugly, nasty and absolutely disgusting!
zombies+prison+badass characters= WIN!
I like hotd but this IS better.
I don't think it needs a female chara because it would automatically give it romantic atmosphere...
I like it the way it is right now and don't understand the low rating either.
People TRY it! I'm impatiantly waiting for the next chaps!
Art: 10/10
The detail is amazing, the gore ... screen worthy, and the characters look great.
Character: 10/10
The characters are well drawn, and have fairly easy names to remember, which is nice. The four protagonists are really likeable - usually when I read this sort of thing there's at least one character that I cannot STAND; but they're all brilliant. And I love the creepy zombies.
Plot: 10/10 (so far)
I've only read the chapters that have been scanlated of late, so I don't know if I'll agree with my own statement, say, when the series ends. But so far, the plot is fascinating ... for a zombie manga.
Anyway ... I can honestly conclude my crappy little review here by saying: READ. THIS. NOW.
