It started off really interesting. I was seriously enjoying it. Then suddenly the main character turned into one of the most horribly cringe worthy characters i have ever read about. I cannot even force myself to try anymore. If you don't mind the stupidest harem type protagonist, then go ahead.

Have you ever found you're self reading a [mostly action] manga or LN you're 7 to 10 volume invested then you look at genre and it says romance or romantic sub-plot but all you have got are mc caught her in the nude and gets slapped or their faces get a little close and the heroine hinted at liking the mc or said in the story but not directly to mc then after reading another 5-12 volumes and they finally get it all and you're so happy but then 1-3 volumes the story end with the epilogue with them getting married or traveling then you realize I've only see them as a couple for so little time and it's over ain't it a bummer unless there is a reason like trauma or something along the lines and not just a dense dumb ass but with this the MC meets heroine trapped underground for a month or two after getting out they both know they love each and they get though what most would take a series to get to very refreshing in that part.

I lasted a bit longer than other reviewers before losing all interest as well.

Let me tell you: it was badly done from the very beginning, but where it REALLY starts to fall apart is when the perspective switches to the other 'heroes' who are SO DUMB as to be completely unrealistic and terribly annoying.

Unfortunately, the miserable author feels the need to spend COUNTLESS CHAPTERS focused entirely on these losers, in the all too obvious, ham-fisted attempt to then wow the reader by showing how the MC will not be retarded like the others and hence not fail miserably in the same situations (thanks in no small part to him be so ridiculously OP).

Ugh. It was so painful to watch these morons proudly 'compete'.

... Sometimes in life, you find yourself dumpster-diving and consuming trash, in the slim hopes you will find that rare pearl. Unfortunately, in this case the briefly fun parts become fewer and farther apart, and the growing cast starts to get really unwieldy quite fast:

Up to the point that I could stomach, the MC gets the following harem:

loli? vampire (I didn't get the sense she was that loli, but rather flat-chested and adult, but maybe that was my wishful reading)

desperate rabbit girl

pervert girl with pseudo-BDSM and anal fixations

most beautiful girl of ALL the girls from his class (of course) who loves him for some lame reason they have not yet revealed but that will surely be something like having noticed him, years ago, nonchalantly save a kitten.

Strangely, the MC even adopts a deeply annoying brat girl and starts to 'act out' like a deranged father in all sorts of demented scenarios that do nothing but deeply impress upon you just how inexperienced and retarded the author is.

The author is so dumb that he can't find any other way to give his MC advantages than either through his OP-ness or through the retarded-ness of his competition, so simple things like building a good relationship with this little girl is achieved through a progression of really awkward social scenes wherein the MC physically dominates and scares everyone, to an absurd degree, just because his little princess 'feels scarred'.

Of course, because he keeps feeding her attention this way, she does nothing but continue to act weak, full of fear and in constant need to be saved, essentially acting out for more attention from 'papa' - PUKE!

The worst Novel ever

This starts promising, but after a few chapters (since the introduction of Yue an the most cringe and stupid romance I have ever read) it goes downhill so fast that I still feel dizzy from reading it.

The chracters are ZEROdimensionals and only exist 3 types:

1)Hajime: The Biggest Black Hole-God Mode Gary Stu ever created (it makes Kirito seems an awesome character in comparasion) His only role is being perfect, always being rigth in everything he does and looking badass. The perfect Gary Stu not even the Parody Stu reach his level in chunni.
1.2) Yue: The same but female.
2) Strong and Beautifull girls: Their role is falling in love with Hajime, just because, to make him look more Badass.
3) The others: Their role is being stupid, weak, jerks, evil... so Hajime looks Badass in comparasion.

The story is all over the place, the mood changes at every moment (probably following the mood of the author that day) its full of cliches, but the bad ones the ones that destroy a good story(not that this will be good even wihout them).

The world is created for Hajime and only for Him, every event that happens is for Hajime to look Badass, or for characters that are not Hajime to look pathetic.

This story fails at everithing, I love harem stories with Badass MC, but even I have a limit of how crap I can tolerate.
I rated this 1/10 just because I can't rate it -1/10
If you don't like boring cliche repetitive stories with awful OP MC don't come close to this.
If you like them, there are tons of better stories or at least less awful
If you are bored of your life and want to put an END to it, there are les paiful forms of doing it
But if you want a slow and paiful DEATH, this is your read.
(the last part is a joke, but trust me this Novel is crap)

If A Bad Fanfic Got Approved

Like the title says, this LN is basically if one of the worse fanfics got published. As everyone is saying, the way the MC and his class is introduced into this world is typical and cliched, the characters are predictable and again cliched, even the way MC and to a lesser degree his classmates get powerful is predictable and cliched.

Some people say they liked the MC's personality after his power-up(which is actually his 2nd personality change) and hate is personality after meeting the "loli-vampire"(which is his 3rd, and not his last) but here's the thing. Before that change the MC's situation was like if someone was given just a utility-belt while everyone else was given superpowers, but that utility-belt could be as decked out as Batman's. And before the "betrayal" he and his classmates were finally seeing him in a different light, but right when it's getting good, right when he's reaching a level of pseudo-originality, he "dies" and undergoes a power-up of a eyerollingly high level that your eyes might pop out, jump on the floor and drill through the earth(exaggeration obviously).

The story begins to go so far up the average teenager's butt that you could call the cops for statutory rape. Everything else is just power fantasy and BAD haremness. That's to say there can be good harems, even mediocre harems, but this sure ain't one. Every single character after that point, new and old, is just used to either show just how powerful the MC is, become the MC's love interest, or show just how useless everyone else is.

I would equate it to a bad Dynasty Warrior game, key being bad not unplayable. Even a bad Dynasty Warrior game can be fun to certain people. Unfortunately if you have even a little bit of curiosity then this likely won't be for you, but if you can turn off your brain, not question even a little bit of what something means or why someone did anything, and enjoy it it can be a good time waster, but even then you likely won't come back to it.

Even considering how cliche and self-indulgent this kind of story is, this is pretty poorly done.

Starts off interesting with the MC having a weak but very flexible ability. Then the MC acquires a hax ability and it goes downhill fast.

Ive read em all (light novels), and i can say the quality of writing is better than sword art online/haganai/tate no yuusha but not as good as Mushoku Tensei, or Risou no Himo.

The action is the best ive read in any light novel, imagine tengen toppa in light novel form

The harem is well executed, and the MC is a great redeeming factor in a genre full of thick headed idiot MCs (hes about as mature as rudeus from Mushoku Tensei)

It seems edgy strong MCs are the hottest thing amongst web novelists on Japan. It's so oveused i dare say that anyone who still thinks "blablabla is a amazing series where MC isn't wimpy weak blablabla" nowadays is just a blatant ignorant kid.

Look, i'm not against strong MCs but this guy over here, Hajime (post-abyss), is a person without any redeeming quality aside from his appearance (obvious Kaneki ripoff is obvious) and his doraemon-tier gears. In fact, his pre-abyss self was much more entertaining (a weak but witty & selfless guy).

I love harem series but dear god, this series has the worst harem ever. Let's get a quick check :

- A loli baba vampire. This girl is like a convenient item where anyone who ventures deep enough will get hot loli as side bonus. Yeah i said it, this girl is nothing but a lust item for Hajime.

Kurousa.. sorry i mean Shia, the busty bunnygirl. She's just your usual damsel-in-distress which would be saved by our kami-sama.

Maso dragon whose name i couldn't careless about. Her inclusion to the harem is so stupid i wouldn't even bother to explain it.

Kaori the (of fucking course) hottest girl on his school. She loves Hajime because of his kind nature. Simplistic and dumb i know, but a lot more reasonable than loli vampire and maso dragon.

Last but not least, Shizuku. She's Kaori bestfriend whose originally supports Kaori's love quest but ultimately fell in love with Hajime too. This is just lame i know, but if anyone should be Hajime's true lover, i would say this girl deserves it. Her interaction with Hajime is amusing and entertaining to watch, unlike other girls.

Now we go to side extras. Ryutaro and Suzu is bland and Kouki is author's pathetic attempt to ridicule popular guys. Other classmates are just pebble in the ground (except for two names i won't mention here).

Villain is nothing but trash-talker.

In the end, this is nothing but author's sad self-insert fanfiction. Anyone who said that this is well-written should bang their head on the wall to fix their brain.

Wow so yeah I've noticed these past couple of months that the whole "Japanese dude (who may or may not have been a complete loser in his original world) is transported/reincarnated into a fantasy world and get's girl(s)" is becoming the new craze for newbie WN authors in Japan.

The first few I picked up such as Overlord and Mushoku Tensei felt refreshing to me and I enjoyed them for what was then to me a change of pace regarding the MCs, ie. them being strong or downright OP guys who don't take much shit from the bad guys before tearing the fools a new one.

But now I feel the market is over-saturated so to speak, seems like a new WN of this genre pops up every other week as more and more authors are trying to capitalize on the popularity(?) of this current theme. Kinda makes it hard for new readers to pick out the good or decent ones from the huge pile of mediocre copycats.

Actual review: So I finally gave this a shot. Fell asleep two chapters in. It is that boring. Too much unnecessary exposition in the beginning not to mention its all so damn similar of many other intros of this genre. Kinda feels like that safety briefing you're forced to watch on every plane flight. Yawn.

This is a pretty meta series.

Originally, this kind of story is that a boy and his friends are taken to a fantasy world where they battle a great evil, growing stronger after each conflict and challenge.

Then the stories become one kind of LN cliché and the boy is immediately OP. It's turned from moderate wish-fulfilment to a cheat-code user's dream of someone who hacks into the gibson and takes over the story by using a trainer. Mushoku Tensei comes to mind.

(Then you have the stories where the main character is underpowered and has to become Batman, which are better on average...)

But here.

Here the ostracized otaku, who is hated because the pretty girl in his class actually pays attention to him, here he is taken to a fantasy world with everyone that hates him (+ the girl and some other people) and becomes the weakest of the weak, has a crap crafting style class and a cynical outlook on how the story of this particular world will turn out to be.

So the author lets him fall down into the abyss in a dungeon in almost the exact same way Gandalf does and turns the boy from an underpowered crafter into a demon-flesh eating hax-machine with 10000 in every stat and skills up the wazoo and a vampire waifu he saves and his hair turns white and the mighty HERO who came with him maxes out at a bit over 1000 and he creates a gun using fantasy minerals AND IT'S ALSO A RAILGUN, also it's a revolver...

Every single thing I wrote there is true. Not a single ounce of hyperbole. The 10000 stat thing IS CANON.

How many layers are here, people? How deep are we in the rabbit hole? It's not a question about suspension of disbelief ("he succeeds at this because he finds a magical jewel thing that seeps out HP+MP potion yadda yadda it's a super rare thing that hasn't been seen in a gazillion years etc. etc.") it's about moderation.

Sure, make your MC op if you want, but this, this is just obscene. This author isn't just a first level otaku-wish-fulfiller, he's up to level five. People who hate him because an otaku -> they are defeated by the otaku mwahahaha x a million.

In addition to this, the text is about 40% exposition about things the main character has no knowledge about. There's no sense of mystery or discovery. I won't comment on the writing itself because it's filtered through unedited translation.
