I used to like a lot Minase-sensei's works because of the art and I still find it very beautiful, her chars are so damn HOT! But this story didn't feel right, it contradicted me in so many ways.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
First of all, why would a strong man like Masahiro accept a brat's threats? He could've avoided sleeping with him, that seems to me way more rational. And in the end, after Masahiro "realizes" his feelings for Yoshimi, he didn't sleep with Akito because Akito decided not to, but otherwise... Is this supposed to be called love. Also, though I like Yoshimi, the manga didn't show any development that should've made Masahiro change his opinion about him.

Well... I still read this with interest since it's Minase's work, but it's definitely not one of her bests.

Yoshimi's hot

That's the only thing I liked about this manga. Story-telling is flat, and a couple of times, it felt like it completely flat-lined... Thing is, Akito (or whatev. his name is), felt almost like an "inconsistent" type of character to me. Not in his actions/behavior per se, but just... HIM, his decision-making, the way his mind worked. At the end of the manga, I actually hated the dude. Contrast this to Yoshimi, who I hated in the beginning (& I get the feeling we're "supposed" to hate due to his personality). He ended up being the one I liked the most. His characterization stayed consistent. Eh, the manga's good if you want it to be good, but it can also be bad if you perceive it as such. It ain't "great," it ain't "bad." It is what it is.

Don't get me wrong, but am I the only one that was frustrated when reading it? Ah well. I liked the end and the overall story but how some of the characters acted was...unusual? Bratty? Annoying? Maybe. Still I liked it a lot.

Finally, a non-inferior uke.

I'm particularly glad about this manga because it's one of those yaois where the story started as the uke the one being chased and loved by two semes. Also in here we have a seme that is mature, gentle and composed (Akito) and another that is persistent, egoistical and naive (Yoshimi). Well, he started off as that but later on he actually tried to achieve being a top model without his father's connections. I also think that the love triangle here was well balanced. Usually, it's painful and the other party's left pitied. And when you mention love triangle usually it's like..A > B < C. And usually B is torn, can't decide bla bla bla. Here, it was pretty unique. First time I read a sort of plot.
Spoiler (highlight to view)
Masahiro actually had a past with Akito first but then Akito decided to go overseas, actually wanted to bring Masahiro with him but yada yada Masahiro refused and they made this agreement that "during their time apart if one were to fall in love with someone else they'd break up" And Masahiro fell in love with Yoshimi cause Yoshimi was so persistent AND (this is what was most important) he was different from Akito. And I think it was nice how the mangaka chose to write both characters as opposites like how Akito is always gentle with Masahiro..being overly protective which lead into Masahiro thinking that Akito's love was just atonement for what happened. As a reader, I also thought so at first which made me root for Yoshimi since was so pushy and convinced "I want you, I love you blabla". And I guess this is what made Masahiro fall in love with Yoshimi. And guess what? the uke wasn't even FORCED to choose unlike other love triangles. He fell in love with Yoshimi during his break up with Akito so there wasn't any cheating or anything. Plus it was Akito's fault for leaving blehh. And I'm glad they remained friends in the end. None of the "I might as well stay away cause it's too painful" crap. I was also really happy when Akito said that Yoshimi and Masahiro might have a different ending than they did. And don't you think that's a little relatable? I mean don't you always think "oh are we gonna end up like that too?" I was relieved when Yoshimi chose to stay in Japan when his first motive was all to surpass Akito and make Masahiro his. And it was all for Masahiro (kyaa~~). In the midst of the story I was thinking "I'd be so pissed of they dont explain Masahiro's relationship with Akito" so I'm really glad they had a chapter for themselves. They discussed thing so maturely (wow) and when Akito asked to hold Masahiro one last time.. I didnt find anything wrong with it since I thought he deserved atleast that. But gahh, it was so galant of him to stop. I think his love for Masahiro really surpassed that of just sexual desire. It touched me, really. I wouldn't have minded if they ended up instead. But Yoshimi did put a lot of effort on Masahiro.
I'm so glad I came accross this manga..simply because I favour how the characters were written. Although, the ending was sort of predictable so it didn't leave me with a big "wow" and I think the story lacked Drama for it being part of the genre. Still, if you're looking for a cool uke who's not inferior to the seme and a NOT so tragic love triangle then you might as well give this a try.

For a manga this long, Masahiro and Yoshimi's relationship was a little rushed...not the relationship itself, but Yoshimi's feelings towards Masahiro. But given his personality, it's understandable, because he's never heard a 'no'.
As for the characters, I totally love Yoshimi. He's so childish! He's my favorite type of seme: sadistic, forceful, selfish and pushy, but only because he's intense, passionate, strong and even caring.
And Masahiro's actually cool too! He's really something for an uke, and he's strong-minded too.
But what I 'feel' about Akito is complicated. He pissed me off. Not so much because of his personality, but his role on the story irritates me. I hated how Masahiro seemed to prefer him at the beginning sometimes, and he's way too gentle and prince-like - I hate those types of characters, they should have negative points too! Also, I've always felt he was up to something bad, and that his feelings for Masahiro weren't real. But then I was wrong and actually started to like him a little, because he was brave enough to understand Masahiro loved Yoshimi and even help them out by pointing it out to him. Then I hated him again for wanting to "hold Masahiro for the last time", and I hated Masahiro even more for letting him. Then I loved him for realizing it wouldn't be right and stopping. And mostly, I love how his relationship with Masahiro was set after all. They became special to one another without getting together in a romantic way. Cute! Now I love Akito.
Then it got me thinking...if Akito was the main character, we would hate Yoshimi. After all, he did kinda steal Masahiro away, even if him and Akito were apart. But as the story went on and why they separate was revealed, it was acceptable.
As for the conflict, about Yoshimi having been invited to live abroad, I think Minase-sensei used it only to explain Masahiro's feelings better. To confirm them, to show he really loved Yoshimi, and not as the main conflict itself, as some people thought.
It's interesting how people (and not only in manga, but in them we can see it clearly) fall in love way before they realize it. Masahiro was thinking too much about Yoshiro right from the start, and was totally won over with that "become mine". Yet he took so long to admit it and tried to deny it too. In the end, I loved the hair cut thing about Masahiro and loved the end itself. Especially because of that peek at their future! ♥

Based on darkmanifest's comment, 'Noncon-lovers dream,' I was enthralled and exited to read this one, but.....
I was so bored! The story telling left me feeling nothing for any of the characters.

This is probably the great work I read from MINASE Masara and her longest work also. The art and story are simply superb. It's amazing to look into modelling world. Quite realistic in that sense.

The ending is quite rush although it's already enough and satisfying but it would have been great it she elaborated further the agony between their distance. A little drama wouldn't hurt. biggrin Thinking about that, some might not like it and just preferred what is the current ending. biggrin

Noncon-lovers dream

Excellent art, interesting characters, intriguing plot (all about modeling), and highly addictive.

But if perpetual non-con bothers you, skip this. Out of many sex scenes (almost one every chapter) there's only two consensual encounters in all four volumes combined. The rest range from mild noncon to violent, painful rape. So be prepared. I wasn't. I kept reading, expecting a couple who were supposed to be falling for each other to, you know, actually have some loving sex. But, alas.

If non-con is your kink, though, you'll love it.

as far as the story goes she made an unsual characters in this story that made me really feel excited to finish the story but i think that the last chapters can be expand more and felt a bit rushed but it is really damn great.

Man the only person who I felt for through all of it was Akito...poor guy got nothing in end. The Masahiro and Yoshimi relationship never clicked for me, it just didn't make sense for some one so confident and sure of himself as Masahiro to fall for such a celf-centered brat as Yoshimi. bah. Well those are my two cents.
