I agree on many points with Kira6's review. This has some (minor) potential, but the author wasted perfectly fine plot points to steer this into a cliche romance. Both the FL and the ML were pretty bland characters, he's a stereotypical cold vampire who goes crazy after he falls in love for the first time, and Areum acts like a overtly naive 15 year old, not a normal, mature 20 year old, and this irked me to no end!
The prince subplot was by far the most interesting thing about the whole setup, and it gets axed after only a few chapters! Nothing else stood out. But the prince could have been a winner, a guy who wants to con ML so much he starts to play around with the FL and then some strange things starts to happen... I can name at least 4 ways this could have gone, but meh, by chapter 30 no more prince!
The author chooses to focus on one thing, and one thing only - the romance. When well executed, this is totally okay. But when it's not thirlling, it turns into mush with a few good points, but still mush. Here, the backbone, the central axis, The slow burn between the ML and FL was too simplistic to intrigue me, the supporting characters were nothing special (except the prince and the head maid, but they get forgotten way to easily). I didn't even have a problem with the ML being a toxic guy, totally understandable when you look at it (a bitter vampire hates by everyone), but it was never explored, in depth, what loving a vampire means. There were some cool feminist moments, but too little, too late!
No, really, without sounding to harsh, there is nothing to gather momentum here - the world-building is thin, the story is thin, the characters are not particularly well built... The art is okay, but hardy anything that would leave me in awe. Simply a mid range, not too bad but not good manhwa. While I would not deter anyone from reading it, I would not recommend it to anyone either. Simply too unremarkable in all regards. Skip!
