Simple and Quick Bleach Questions.
First off who is Kukia? Do you mean Rukia? or Kuchiki Byakuya?
Secondly, it has never been stated Isshin was a captain, he says a line when defeating Grand Fisher that implies he has power that is on par with a captain but of the shinigami that were living in seclusion on earth, (Urahara, Yoruichi, and Isshin) only Urahara has be referred to as a captain. Also keep in mind the seireitei is the size of a large country, so there's a high likelihood the two would never meet.

The seireitei? As in the place where shinigami live? I never got the impression that that was the size of a country. If anything, it seemed to be the size of a large city (like New York or Tokyo), given that Ichigo and company were confident in finding and rescuing Rukia in the span of a month or so (searching an entire country by foot with a small party would be near impossible). Soul Society may be the size of a large country, but considering that it contains every soul not in hell and not destroyed by hollows and the like, chances are it's probably bigger.

Ok I'll give you it may not be as big as a country, but there are still several million souls populating it so my point is still valid.

I wasn't trying to say that something was wrong with the manga. I know it was never stated that Isshin was a captain. I was just wondering why everyone seems to think that Isshin was a captain.
Even if the seireitei is huge, not knowing the captains is the same as not knowing the president of your country. Even if they never met, Rukia should know who he was, rigth?

If he was a captain, then yes.

So, he wasn't a captain. Otherwise, when Rukia met him she shoud had recognize him.
Or he stop being a shinigami after stop being a captain...
We also don't know what happened to send Isshin to the material world. With the number of people there are bound to be those that look similar, plus the first time they met his powers were still sealed, so he wouldn't give off the same aura. Or she could have assumed it was him after being reborn, since the time of the worlds aren't in perfect sync, right?

You would think that she'd be able to sense his reiatsu.
And when they show Isshin, didn't he have a torn robe of a captain tied to his hakama?

No, that's just an assumption.
As you can see, it is similar, but in no way does that portray a standard Captain robe.

It was tied to his left arm.

I didn't remember that. So, if it is a captain's robe, did he change his looks and his reitsu so Rukia didn't recognise him? Or did he stop being a captain more than 40 years ago (if I remember correctly, thats when Rukia entered the shinigami academy), even if he just lost his shinigami powers 20 years ago?
I believe his powers were being suppressed somehow. Probably by something Urahara gave him. If you remember Urahara askisk if his rieatsu has decreased over the 20 years of not being used, then says he was afraid isshin might blame him for the decrease, if there was one.

it doesn't necessarily means that he was a captain. if that was a captain's robe, then, there's a possibility he wears it as a sign of respect for his former captain or something along that line...

That would actually be MORE badass than if he was a captain. Never thought about that.
