Shoujo that a guy would enjoy?

Princess Princess and Ouran Koukou Host Club.
Tested them both on boys and it made them laugh. Heck, in volume 3 of Princess Princess the author herself commented how confused she was about how many boys read it. 😀

mint no bokura(about young characters, but still a cute romance)
It's Mint na Bokura. 😉 (I made that mistake though too about the "no" instead of "na".)

I forced myself to finish Chobits, Wish etc etc and never ever picked any of those again due to its saccharine and unbelievable ideas (who the hell wants to stay with a robot and never have sex forever?) Sorry to all the CLAMP fans out there, but that's what I feel.
About this chat about Chobits, wasn't that a spoiler? O_o
But there have been discussions about this and fans have found loopholes in Clamp's understanding about technology. There was disabling the switch and finding "alternative ways" (you can probably figure this out due to the context of the conversation, or have at least a slightly dirty mind 😉).
Complex (shoujo) is probably something worth looking at. 🙂 I guess the romance is around at the beginning but it's similar to Card Captor Sakura's relationship for Sakura and Syaoran (I don't know if there's an easy way to discuss that spoiler, of the relationship. But I'm sure everyone got spoiled watching CCS AMVs).. It becomes more of a story with a girl finding her place in the world when the story shifts. I actually wish there had been more romance though. 😢
Edit:
Yeah, it didn't cross my mind that "Complex" was taken even though the "Complex" I was recommending was "Complex (shoujo)". So it's fixed so that project doesn't get more accidental hits and people don't unknowingly stumble onto the project. 😉 It took me this long because I was editing my post and then there was "forum maintenance" and even when I could post/reply again I could not get my post/edit to go through!. 🙄 And then I left the site and dragged my feet coming back. ^^;

I would recommend doing a genre search for shoujo paired up with other genres that you also know you like. I've just started doing that, and I've found some pretty interesting series that I would have otherwise overlooked.

Hmmm... is Complex really the correct title? It looks like yaoi to me.

I guess what you really meant was Complex (shoujo), right?
I recommend Skip Beat and Tokyo Crazy Paradise myself. From the same author, and I assure you that these heroines aren't exactly the typical fragile girl that gets rescued by the guy all the time. Far from it actually XD

I strongly recommend you Pet Shop of Horrors. And if you can, watch the OVAs before reading the manga (As I said before, they're priceless but they have to be seen before the manga because otherwise their impact diminish considerably).
And you should also check up Tomie by Junji Ito. This horror manga is so "strong" that I first thought it was seinen (But I was really surprised to know that it was serialized in a shoujo horror magazine). Only in the first story this manga features scenes of murder and dismembering (scenes like these are almost a constant). But it was so successful in Japan that they have made like seven movies about it (so it must be for something, don't you think?).

How about Jun'ai Tokkou Taichou? It looks like we've got a delinquent couple there. It's not all flowery, has a good dose of physical comedy, and doesn't get all angsty (at least from what I've seen). I read the basketball manga the same author wrote but it got pretty bleh towards the second volume.

I'm also casting a vote for Kare Kano, along with Mekakushi no Kuni / Land of the Blindfolded, and Ghost Hunt. I usually recommend these.
Oh. And I have guy friends who read Hana Yori Dango, not that I recommended it (they came to it by way of the dorama).
