Name the series you are so emotionally connected to, that once you finished them after such a long time it felt a part of your life had died. Be careful to not confuse this with anime/manga you have completed that you were only emotionally attached to, but series that made it actually feel like a part of your life was/is over.

For me it's Tsubasa Chronicle and Full Metal Alchemist.
FMA for obvious reasons and TRC because I've been really close to all the characters due to watching/reading many of CLAMP's other series and really being connected to those.

Series that once completed will probably feel like this to me are xxxHolic (building on what TRC did) and Gakuen Alice.

A very bittersweet yet loving thread. 😢

Ginen Shounen when the love interest of the main character said that she was going out with another guy... and she said this to the main character... I was pissed beyond belief and admittedly cried for a while and I couldnt get it out of my head for 3 weeks 🤢

Edit: Oops, I missed 'once completed part'... but these are my true feeling so far^ (since its ongoing)

Definitely Full Metal Alchemist. I was so happy and yet so sad to see it end.

Lol even though it doesn't fit the thread I felt that way to. I didn't cry, but got on my knees, screamed noooo! and tried(and failed) to rip my t-shirt like the hulk

Ai-Ren

Even though I already knew both protagonists were fated to I was still left emotionally devastated when I finished reading the series.

Gakuen Sousei Nekoten!... Well, I haven't finished it... but I have all five volumes... and I already feel like I'm dying. I've had the last volume since more than a month ago, but I haven't finished it! .________.

And...
Hanako to Guuwa no Tera. It was SO. GOOD. TT____________TT But it ended so quickly... sad puppy.

You are like the dense main character in a shoujo manga.

Samurai Deeper Kyo, i've been read it, followed it for years... and when it ended, i felt like i lost something that usually i do every month (buy and read it's newest volume) and it's quite hard to find a replacement for it.....

I have a never-ending list of series I can finish, and absolutely love, but I just put it off for a loooong time..

well...the only one that made me really cry and feel anything was illumination

while i was reading it it felt as if my heart had been tugged out of my chest and i felt ...not as if i had died, but as if the part of me that i'd thought was gone had come back. its probably because i really connected with the main character...plus the author is really talented...

im not sure i'll ever feel as if a part of me had died, because i can always reread the series?

Second Ai-ren. That manga is just...something else. While reading the final chapters and the ending itself i was feeling as if my heart (er...more like stomach in real terms) was being squashed by an invisible hand. For me, my life timeline almost comes with a Before Ai-ren and After Ai-ren division.

Dunno why it hit me so hard but it did.
P.D. I absolutely despise, hate, loathe tragic stories (or rather tragic endings). I love my happy endings. Hate me for that!! >:-(
