I second Vampire Juujikai but also Kiseijuu and Akumetsu. However, definitely the biggest void was left by Hikaru no Go.
Akumetsu was amazing from beginning to end and vampire juujikai had some great twists but I have to agree with you that hikaru no go left one of the biggest voids in me and it felt like a genre of it's own. I've been searching for something similar or as good for a long time and haven't really found anything like it. I've reread Hikaru no go over 4 times now and each time through was as satisfying as any other time I reread it. Still waiting on something as good as Hikaru, I've read through a bunch of different sports or board game manga and gone through anime but those give a different feel, Hikaru was in a class of its own.
