I went to a normal high school..........I don't see how the school can offer calc but not pre-calc seeing how pre-calc is a lower level math comparing to calc.
I wasn't in high school, but I took Algebra in middle school without pre algebra (like every one else had... it was in 8th grade, and they finally decided to put me in the AG class rotation after everyone else in my class had taken pre algebra.)
But the thing is, every school district has different requirements for credits, and in a different high school, a Calculus curriculum could also cover pre-calc, while in another, they are two separate classes.

they simply dont have either.
my private school had horrible math program, but a good english program. and now im majoring in engineering. it's all about what you make of it.

when I was in high school I love math, because I'd rather to calculate than memorizing a book, and I used to underestimated Integral, but since my study in university, I started to hate math more and more.
Do you guys get Fourier series, Fourier Transform, and Laplace Transform?
HAHAHA!!! HAHAHHA!!! Good luck with that. Yeah, I studied them. Laplace Transform is a rip-off. It's just retarded in my opinion. All you ever do is Lapace and inverse Lapace, and there is your differential answer. And Fourier is like Laplace.
I'm done with it, but it seems like it wont be much of use.
Once I need fourier, laplace, and gauss for one of many filtering mode in our project Image Processing program including other mode like histogram, image capture using self build driver for various camera, thresholding, edge detectors (with canny)
Its much easier to code it , just let the comp calculate it ^^.

I've never even heard of precalc until I studied in the US... 😐

Same...here in Canada, its just called Calculus
I take maths A-Level
and i'm failing hardcore lol.
Well the mechanics side I am. Thats like the physics side of things and shit like that. And since i suck and physics, wellll....yeah XD
Basicly I have no life at the moment. All I do is maths, maths and art because art takes up a lot of time, and the amount of stuff they want you to do is mindblowing lol. I also take psychology and history, but i forget about them until I have some homework set from them 🤣
Dunno how im gonna survive this really. We'll see what happens.

Hello ladies and gents
grade 12 here, doing pre calculus and its driving me crazy more so for i'm a guy who either understand it or not. Also the problems of me being a procrastinator (sigh)
really make a dreadful combo ... well it hit me beat the shit out of me and a bullet shot through my forehead to make me understand^^ I'm starting over which was really helpful especially since teachers and friend help out. SOooo i'm still not out of the dead zone yet (fail) So was wondering what do you PEOPLE DO to live through the hellish course Exams,test,quiz....the existence of itself (haha!)
tips, problems, advices, past events ,consequences etc.!! POST THEM HERE
i took percal in 12th grade too, man it sucked so bad but at the end of the course i got i think C+ or B- on it cuz "we" the seniors didnt really hava final exam, it was like "we" had to explain like 5 rules and ways ppl make mistakes in doing problems and the more u do, the more point u get...i did like 10 and got a good enough grade to not hurt my overall grade.
tips and advices: i really got nothin cuz im like u, i procrastinate alot...actually all the time i procrastinate...for example i had a paper due last monday for my eng course in college and i did the paper 2hours before the class but i got a good grade on it...i jus hav to revise it, to make it more clear to read...but it was good...so i say jus do homework and **dont cram b4 **tests...if u do your homework, u can at least get C on the tests...thts wat i did 🤣

yeah....once I used a half full paper with Laplace on it.......as scrap paper to draw doodles on them.
Well, Laplace and Fourier just isn't required for those liberal art school and majors.

IT'S THE DEVIL. MATH.IS.THE.DEVIL! D<
With that being said, I fail horribly at it. When it came to taking College Algebra, I failed it twice, so I took Math for Liberal Arts {Aka, High School Algebra}. After that I learned it takes practice. If I do homework or take more notes after class, I'll be fine. If I don't, I fail miserably D:

😲 Just this week my professor was saying how statistics show that there are more honor students in Asia than there are students in the US, like whoa.
I love math! Ah, but I love the expressions people make when they struggle with it too.
I know horrible but it makes for entertainment~
This is what I mean: 😲 😐 🤢 😢
Yes. people do cry because of math, that's just how great it is.

I'm quite good at math so far. (Algebra) At the end of every semester its my only class with a 99% (A+) for the entire sememster. (I have A- s to A s on everything else.) I haven't taken pre-calculus yet, but I'm planning on taking it in a year or two.

Yay math! On a serious note, even if you're having trouble with math at the moment, if you go into a university program which requires some math (engineering or physics, for example), you'll get better (at applied math overall) over the years.
Here's a fun article that some people might want to read:

Math used to be my easiest class... before i started taking BC Calc. God that class makes me cry, Power series, sooo much memorizing 😔 I was getting a C+ in that class, but I started going in for help like every single day and I managed to pull off a solid B for 1st semester. I still have a B so far in 2nd semester but I dont know how long that's gonna last since I've started slacking off again...

Since this is my last year of hs, I thought to myself: "Why don't I take a challenging math class?" WRONG!! It's ruining my gpa, and my social life for my senior year. I really don't like calculus bc, and I don't know what I was thinking when I signed up for another math class with that one.
So....I'll never take math in college!!! 😀
