When they're so used to things not being the way they want and the idea of how unattainable the other person is that when they finally get something good, they pretty much just break down, cry and refuse to believe it.

A good example of this would be the chapter 5 story of Bi no Isu. A lesser example of this might be Sweet Bitter Candy (First story - Chapters 1-3).

So yeah. Looking for stuff like this. 😀 Please and thanks.

Doushitemo Furetakunai is the BEST example of this, ever. Amazing manga, too...

Yachin Hanbun no Ibasho desu is kinda like that, too. The uke doesn't break down, but he gets very insecure and just finds it difficult to love again... Edit: Also Hokenshitsu Made Nan M? by the same mangaka.

Do Not Sit There, too.

And Sekaiichi Hatsukoi, I guess...

If only I held you that day... is another classic example of this.

😀

Naw, I'm just yaoi-obsessed. 🤣

You're welcome, sweetheart!

Edit: The main story of Namida mo Tooku - Aonibi no Nemuri is another prime example! But be warned that it's a tragedy that might just rip your heart out... ;___;

Well, I have to mention that I began this reply with the intention of suggesting the one-shot Seiritsu Shinai Asa (The Morning that Will Never Happen), but when I went to look for the MU link to the series, I found that it's actually a part of Bi no Isu...the fifth chapter...which you used as the main example in your first post... 🤢 ...

But anyway, I thought I might suggest two other one-shots, but they might not be as close to what you're seeking:

Tsuki ni Ichido no Omeshi Agari (also by Ike Reibun)
Mogura to Taiyou (part of Yuuwaku Sentiment)

In the latter,

the main character doesn't really break down but refuses (or, maybe, is afraid) to accept, by running away, that his 'unattainable person' might actually be attainable.

EDIT: Sorry, I checked your "Complete List" before posting my reply. I didn't realize until after I'd submitted that you had a separate "Complete Yaoi" list into which these two stories already fell! 😢

That was cute. Kinda short. But cute. I Think the second story fit more to what I was looking for but it was still a pretty loose example. Thanks though! I like it.

Just read Black Outsider by Naono Bohra and remembered this thread. Because the main character had the whole, "He's too good for me... Wait, he's not straight?!" thing going.

And it was sweet that the seme had been in love with him the whole time.
