Well, simple enough topic. To keep this from developing into a spam thread, please state why you bought it and perhaps link to it's proper page if possible.

Today, I ordered Jiro Taniguchi's The Ice Wanderer and other stories off Book Depository online. Their free shipping is an incredible offer I couldn't pass up. Reason I bought it; I loved every single Taniguchi manga I've read before, and I'd buy his stuff even just for the art. And I'm a sucker for mountaineering and the wilderness. 😛
Can't wait for it to arrive...

Love Roma, all 5 volumes.

Bought them last week coz they were cheap. Always knew it was good (downloaded volume 1 some time ago).... and there was nothing else to buy at the time.

Other manga I buy/own:-

Gunslinger Girl
MuShiShi
Blood Alone
Yotsubato!
Mars
Monster
Eternal Sabbath
Dead End

and many 1-shots, like Keimusho no Naka, Disappearance Diary and Kinderbook (most of them published by Ponent Mon). Also trying to purchase Japanese versions of every Asano Inio manga, even if it hasn't been licensed.... coz I absolutely adore this guy's work.

I bought Akuma no Ororon a couple of weeks ago. It's amazing. My money is tight atm so I've had to restrict my spending, is driving me crazy. I read the first volume online and fell in love though so had to get it, plus I got a good deal on a collection of all 4 volumes on Amazon.

Honey and Clover vol. 2 and Mushishi vol. 4. Both of them are awesome series and since they are licensed, are currently not being scanlated. Thus no way to read them in English w/o spending some cash. Also bought vol. 1 of Monster since I happened to see it in a Anime/Manga Store near where I live and Monster is hard to come by when just browsing from bookstore to bookstore.

I know what you mean. I have to go and reserve my copy for Solanin which comes out October 21.

Wow!.... Solanin's licensed. Didn't realize Viz had such good taste. Thanx for the heads up.

Gan, you have some damn awesome taste! I've been wanting to get Doing Time, Kinderbook and Disappearance Diary for some time now...
And it is a pretty suprising license on Viz' behalf, isn't it? Though there's other manga I'm a bit more excited about this year, and I will try to pick up Solanin.

Thanx for the complement.

Maybe you could list those "other manga I'm a bit excited about this year"?.... We may share similar tastes after all.

BTW, I was a bit disappointed with Kinderbook. I'm not saying it's bad, but it wasn't as good as some people say, IMHO. I think there's a download available, so you may want to "try before you buy" with that one.

@ Highway-STAR,

Damn... some of those are really old.... like 1970's old. Dunno if any English publishers have them.

I've been looking for an English version of Quest For the Missing Girl everywhere. Ponent Mon claim to have licensed it, but I don't see it on their site. Actually, I'm not sure if Ponent Mon is still open for business or not. I think there's a French version available though, but I never attended my French classes back in school.

Cheers!

I know they're old, I love a lot of 70s manga. What d'you mean "Dunno if any English publishers have them."? The ones I listed are already licensed and due for release in the next few months...
And about Missing Girl, it hasn't been released yet, though it is in the listing for "In the Making" on Fanfare's site. I believe there's an Italian version actually, Stephen Robinson showed it to people at a con at one stage...
And I'm pretty sure they're still in business, I recently contacted Stephen (head of Fanfare) and he's got tons of stuff planned for 2009.
Unless you're referring to the non-English half, Ponent Mon, are you? I presumed you were on about the English half.... 😳

Yup... the English half.... Now that you mention it, I do notice the Fanfare logo on the back of the mangas.

I thought Ponent Mon was both French and English.... sorry bout that.

Good news overall, then. 😛
