The main thing is I don't want him reading manga with sexual situations in it. I'm okay with cussing (except for f***) and with violence. He is mature for his age so I'm sure he can handle more mature manga (plot wise). It's just that I'm not comfortable with him being exposed to things like that yet (maybe in a couple of years). I know I'm babying him but he is my only baby brother and my big sister protective instincts are to shield him.
Well anyways, thanks so much for all the recommendations! If y'all know of anymore please let me know.
Thanks,
Tasi

Hmmmm well it's going to depend on your & your family's comfort level with certain things. For example, in Ranma 1/2 there's a fair amount of stuff about boobs but it's done for humor - in our family boob stuff isn't a big deal so I was fine with my boys reading it way back when they were ~7 years old. The characters consider kissing a big deal, so it's not like there's any really "mature" sexual content (though there is a perverted old man that could be a bit disturbing, I guess...).
Probably the best thing to do is skim through a few chapters at the beginning of the manga plus a few later chapters, and see what you think. 😃

I strongly agree with the posts of One Piece, Fairy Tail and Ruroni Kenshin. There aren't many 13 year old boys who wouldn't like them.
I also have to add Hunter x Hunter and Busou Renkin to the list.
Naruto has some slightly psychologically disturbing occurrences, but nothing too bad. Eyeshield 21, Kekkaishi and Prince of Tennis will also be liked by most 13 year olds, but not by quite as many. Adachi is gonna be really hit or miss. Good luck.

I'll list ones that are not posted yet:
These are all decent shounen soccer manga:
Whistle!
Area no Kishi
Fantasista
Over Drive- My personal favorite, about a shounen bicycle manga where the main character slowly changes from a weak boy with no dream to a strong-willed man with a motivation to live. too bad the scanlations are slow and barley finished, but it still has 3 volumes released in scanlations so you can give it a try, I finished the manga after buying raws.

So my 13 year old brother asked me to introduce him to some manga, which is difficult for me since I'm a 21 year old girl. All the manga I read have "adult situations" in them and I do not want him to be exposed to them just yet. So does anyone know of some CLEAN (as in G-PG), shounen manga with a decent plot? He is really into sports so a sports manga would be a plus. He's also not a big reader so an action one would also be wonderful.
Thanks for your help!
Tasi
Maybe it would be the best to introduce him to some mature plots "They are ggrreeaatt", but is your call since he is your brother, you should know what things he already knows about "mature" content... I mean what's the worse that can happen...
oh yeah Incest >_>
j/k
Anyway, I better back off, but I think you should take him more seriously... OH WAIT, there is a good way to know if he is ready for "mature" content... He likes Naruto? if the answer is Yes, then he is not ready for stuff like D-ASH just yet
Now after the joke, lets give some meanful suggestions:
Rurouni Kenshin is always good, and is a classic
Hotel is a good way to introduce him to the "mature" yet not H or bloody world of manga
Lets continue later, since I have to go...

Not quite sure how that follows...
I read a lot of mature stuff and seinin. My two favorite mangas are Berserk and Gantz (not for 13 year olds!), But I still like Naruto a lot too.
Honestly I think its silly to try to introduce him to mature stuff. Let him find it on his own when he gets a bit older.

I'm not quite sure a 13 year old boy would find Hotel that interesting, but you never know I guess o_o

GTO is probably too ecchi for him, but he should read it sometime. Use it to get him hooked and coming back for more 🙂 .

Yes...someone who understands. I know my brother knows or is at least aware of "mature" things. He might be a little innocent for his age but he's not stupid. I'm pretty sure if I do give him a more mature manga he won't freak. But it would be extremely weird for an older sister to do that. He should discover stuff for himself like every other kid does. 🤨
one piece
slam dunk
major
HAJIME NO IPPO (read through the first 2 volumes hell definitely get hooked on it)
History's strongest disciple kenichi is a great read oso
btw jpn does overdrive continue after his first race?
