mangas like fushigi yuugi or from far away

i just finished reading FROM FAR AWAY by hikawa kyoko. it reminded me so much of fushigi yuugi where the girl ended up in another world/dimension then she met her one true love, blah blah blah. both heroines are some kind of a klutz but fight back whenever necessary.
so, i would like to ask for suggestions for mangas like these. where the girl was transported to another world,where the guy was sooo cool in protecting the girl no matter what, etc.
i mean,i looooove it when the guy goes such great lengths just to be with her, to protect her, yada, yada, blah blah blah.

Not exactly what you're looking for -
but in Shinobi Life, a guy from the past gets
transported to the future (and falls in love).
The guy has this guardian function, so there are
lots of moments where he protects the heroine.

You may try Ryou. The heroine goes back to 13th century feudal Japan. The mangaka used the historical facts and blended them so well into the story. ^_^
