I know that reading the same type of story may be what people call "cliche", but I like to read manga with the same story plot alot.

My favorite story plot is girl gets taken into another world and has many adventures with the guy she loves.

I hate story plots where the girl tries to get the guy and then the story ends.

I have more likes and dislikes but I want to read yours. 😀

I like stories that involve some strong, badass girl fighting to protect someone (usually though not always, less strong and less bad-ass) special to her (preferably female, but either way is fine).

Alternatively I like stories involving misguided idealists trying to change the world.

Oh yeah, I forgot to say what I hate. Plots involving weak useless led characters, as well as basic harem plots.

No, it isn't.

On topic, I don't really like clichés, but don't hate them either. Manga with original plot are quite refreshing. And well, maybe I do enjoy the "optimistic hero with tragic past" one, since I think it's shows the strenght of their ideals and determination. Some that I don't like, maybe harems.

You have the same one of my likes and dislikes! 😀 I simply hate weak lead characters. They make me angry that I can't stand read anymore but I keep reading to see if they change in any type of way.

I hate this also!

Loves: I like small groups of friends who travel on there own, usually against the law, but the other way can work too. Wish I could find more like that. i.e. Black Lagoon One Piece (getting a tad big for my liking though) (younger group would be even better)

Totally bad ass guys that (mostly) everyone is leagues behind his power. Aiki is a great example. Superior kinda works too, if Exa wasn't so stingy with his power I'd like it more.

Anything to do with street punks. Air Gear would fit nicely, groups of kids doing illegal rollerskating, pure awesome.

Hates: Not much of an hate as it is an annoyance. The guy/gal always ends up with the original girl/boy they do anything with, no matter who shows up, be it long time friend, past lover, or anyone. Way to predictable.

Yeah that annoys me as well, especially when the guy's a total prick.

Hate: "No please don't parade around me wearing nothing!" type harems. Ecchi w/ no/weak plot. And above all "I love my rapist." shojo.

Like: I'll give anything a shot but I like darker more mature seinen (maybe shonen), like Gantz, Kurozuka, Sidooh, Alive!. Maybe w/ a little sci-fi/fantasy. If not, oh well.

Modern&Ancient Settings, Subtle Romance; Pretty much lots of action/supernatural sort of thing in either said settings with said dash of romance. Dark is optional. I'm pretty flexible.

I adore celebrity/starlet-plots with underlying angst/slight dark themes, I sometimes call it Chiro Star Project.

What I hate?
Many things, though specifically Harem/Ecchi with loads of panty-shots practically on every page; with the male protagonists suffering nosebleeds and the girl's just oblivious. Nothing against it, just don't like it.

what i like is adventure manga (like one piece), stories where there's a good amount of 3-dimesional characters (like naruto and gantz), and sport manga (like slam dunk and eyeshield 21, even though it is inaccurate)

the kind of plots i hate are the ones where there are pussy main characters (especially the ones where the male lead is TOO damn polite and apologizing for EVERYTHING that they do, like breathing or eating food), and the ones where the women treat the men like crap, but the men still risk their life to protect them (which is ironic, because naruto is like this with naruto and every girl except hinata)

now that i think about it, i'm going to put up a post soon so i can get people's opinions about why male leads let those women do things like that to them

Likes: slice of life or exotic career with a rag tag band of nakama. gto, bebop, irresponsible captain tylor are perfect examples, gintama embodies it but lacks an actual plot.

Hates: cliche romantic comedy story that aren't funny. i don't want my romance with comedy, i want my comedy with romance.

Nope, it isn't.

There's a;
Most Favorite Shoujo Cliche?
Worst Shoujo Cliche!
Worst Shounen Cliche.

This thread is more general, and not limited to one demographic.
And it's more about (overused) plot lines/elements.

On-topic: Yeah, I'm with the hate-club against loving your rapists, and I love the manga that test out humanity's morality/psychology.
