Ok. I didn't want to be specific because in reality, I want all the qualities from him, but I guess if I had to pick I'd say:

Doesn't speak much
Super powerful
Self-interested
Protective of at least one other person, like Rin and Jaken (not a necessary one though)
Doesn't affiliate with a certain side (i.e. the "good" side, or the "bad" side). In this way, Ciel from Kuroshitsuji fits very well.

Sorry if this is too many or too specific or something. Someone like Jellal from Fairy Tail would also work.

I've never really read Liar Game or Until Death, but I've heard bout them for awhile, so this will give me an excuse to read them.

Since it no longer has to be the main character, I recommend Flame of Recca.

Kurei has lots of the same qualities as Sesshomaru. He's handsome, cold, distant, super powerful, self interested, protective of (some of) his own people, etc.

He's even the half brother of the protagonist.

The only thing that might not fit in is that he's pretty much one of the bad guys throughout much of the series.

He's the main bad guy throughout first part of the series (covered by the anime) but later he splits off to become sort of a rogue faction. Definitely not one of the good guys, but also enemies with the bad guys.

I've got the perfect manga/anime for you! Samurai deeper kyo. The main character is more powerful than anybody and only self intrest. He doesn't care about anybody except for a girl who kept following him around just like Rin kept following sesshomaru. 😀

The series was already mentioned, but I'd actually say Bleach's Kuchiki Byakuya is a dead ringer for Sesshomaru's personality, for those of you still trying to picture it.

I've heard of Samurai Deeper Kyo, but I've never read it. I went to the page, though, and one of the mangas listed in the manga suggestions place (you know, where it says "if you liked this manga then try . . . ) was Rurouni Kenshin. I happen to LOVE Rurouni Kenshin, so that definitely made me want to check it out. Thanks!
