MAKING AIR TREK

Hmm i think we could use a dynamo motor with closed circle. U just accelerate like with normal rollerblades and then it will produce electrocity on its own. If that would work u just have to make breaks for speed reducing.

We would have to start from scratch, if we tried to modify existing rollerblades, we would end up with exactly that...a pair of modified rollerblades.
if anyone has the schematic for the airtrack from the manga I can build it in ProE and we can see what we really have to work with.
just wait. i thinkhave one in my pc. just forgot where i keep it. once i found it, i'll upload them.

the motor can be easily made but its the power source im worried about. we'd need to make something small and light enough that a person can atleast carry it on his back and safe enough so that it doesnt break if the person falls. i designed one in my head that would work but the top speed is about 8 miles an hour. oh yeah i forgot that my design had three wheel on each shoe rather then 2
i think two wheels is better so it could support our body when at high speed.
i've found a way to control the speed of AT. so it wont thrust forward everytime our feet touches the ground. it's remote control but we wear it on our wrist, thigh, anywhere we like. it should be able to give us the right speed we wanted.

well actually 2 wheels are better because you can reduce weight and power input to the wheels = more power to each wheel especially the back one.

ok.. i just got brainstormed on the basic design. since we can't find an engine small enough. i made a simple drawing using paint just for the general idea. but i guess i'll ask somebody to draw a better one before i upload it.

Just imagine Inline skates with nuclear traction, sounds great...

Just for the sake of topic, about how long are we looking at putting something like these together? A few months, years maybe? 😕

whoah...this thread's still alive? it's been more than a year now...
nvm...uhm...how are you going to make the AT follow it's user's command?

i too would like to know how. i believe that the trick to how these are going to work lie in how you are going to get them to follow the users command.

ok Guys listen up I do know of something very similar to air treks that already exists think i'm bluffing, Hmm? Just try me i will tell a selective amount of people that i think won't kill themselves riding those things but to cut to the chase I'm in IL, united states give me atleast 10 people who stay close by and is interested in starting an AT team serious people only 😎

Hey guys im new and i dont know much about motors or battary sorces but i am a graphic disigher and im working on puting together some pictures based apon what you guys have talked about in the fourm and the manga/tv show of what the finished product might look like. and if you guys would like me to make you some more realisic versions of your scimatics you can e-mail them to me
Hey guys...I just discovered your post today and I can only say - I'm really glad someone is trying to make something which resembles AT's. Keep going you guys. I know enthusiasts like you all can make it work.

Hey, I love the Idea of making ATs and I don't want to be the guy who says it wont work but the reality is that the technology doesn't exist yet.(if the cost is outrageously large it doesn't matter if it technically exists or not) someone mentioned Carbon nano tubes. That is a great idea, but tell me how much do these nano tubes cost? I'm guessing that kind of development would be in the multi-million dollar range
I am a skater no a scientist or engineer, what I do know is this, they need to comfortable and functional. And if they cost a million dollars ( which I think would sadly be fairly accurate) how are any of us gonna get them?
On a lighter note, here is my developmental input.
These skates would need be fairly heavy duty.
An aggressive style boot would be ideal. They are heavy though so a carbon fiber boot shell would reduce weight. for boot interior I'd talk to K2 skates they have soft boot technology and in my opinion are the most comfortable skates on the market.
the wheels on ATs look wider than normal wheels. It would be great if a skate wheel company could make some wider ones. When theres only two wheels they need to be beefy anyway. I'm thinking 100mm-125mm wheels with a durometer of 82A. about an inch thick. The wheel base need to be a bit closer together or the turning goes to hell.
My friend is pretty good with Computer drafting so I'll try to get him to draw some up. The biggest problem is that we as fan don't have the resources for the most part. If we manage to send in a proposal to a company like K2 it needs to be quality legit stuff. For now I think the electric part is out of the question. No company want to be responsible for the safety hazards involved therein. However if and when the time comes that the power is feasible I think it would be safer and easier to have a wireless remote with pressure sensitive button throttle.
Anyway, I'll see what i can do on my end. It seems like everyone here has some great ideas but we have to figure what's cost efficient.
If we can get the skates themselves down first then at least we'll be ready when the technology gets here
. If Anyone wants to add me and talk about it. heres my email Redsfxc81_3@hotmail.com

Hey guys, I've been wanting to get something done on AT's for a long time and first of all to those who say "The technology doesn't exist yet." I've got three words for you. Large Hadron Collider. Anything is possible, even creating a mini black hole under a city. Anyway, after reading the first 15 pages of posts and realizing there were a lot more to go, I skimmed through the rest and decided that you guys are really serious about it and are doing something to make it a reality. So I created an account right away and am now offering to assist in anyway that I can. I 'll buy some materials myself, and also see about creating a stronger engine. I don't want this thread to continue to consist of the phrase "How can we?" We will find a way. After all, every accomplishment began as just an idea. So I'll keep up with the posts and do some research of my own.
